New defensive stalwart Hoban "Wash" Washburne, recently having joined the SSL, had been seen praising the league's widespread geographic variance and global reach. The league covers every hemisphere, every continent except Antarctica, and attracts a massive international base of support as a result. How ironic is it, then, that the man who spent much of his time in the Norwegian league ended up with one of the closest teams to his home, in AS Paris? Technically the closest team would be Inter London, but AS Paris are certainly next, and there's a hefty gap before the other two European teams, let alone the rest of the world.
The cold weather man was not likely to land in a spot that was quite to the temperatures of either Longyearbyen, his city of origin, or Tromso, where he played his development years - Montreal would likely be the closest, but even that's a rather balmy climate in comparison. However, Paris ought to be a nice variance throughout the different stages of the year - especially relative to places such as Cairo where the heat would take some getting used to.
Additionally, Wash has been given an extra task - scout out the city of Paris and learn all the best places. The ones the locals know, not just the big touristy stuff. His agent, diamond_ace, will be spending his honeymoon in both Paris and London, when he has the money to do so. He already knows a few interesting things about London (despite never having been there) through various forms of media - Fifa and FM youtubers, watching various UK-based tv programs, etc. Paris, less so - Paris is mostly in there for his wife. So Wash, who will be playing there and spending a lot of time there, has been told to help him scout the area out - in exchange, the agent is not taking a fee out of his contract, and instead representing him for free, which allows him to retain a larger percentage for himself.
