A Look At The S6 Draft Class, For Now
#1
There are currently 20 prospects with entries confirmed for the Season 6 Simulation Soccer League Draft as we go to press, taking place this weekend. Here is a closer look at that draft pool as it stands right now going into the weekend.

- Perhaps surprisingly, seven of the 20 prospects hail from the United States. That makes the US the most represented nation in the draft class. There are also prospects from Albania, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Greece, North Macedonia, Palau, Scotland and Zambia.

- Unsurprisingly, many of the prospects fancy themselves skilled offensive players. Five of the 20 prospects have listed their primary position as striker, and another four have listed themselves as attacking midfielders. It will be interesting to see how many of these players are able to carve out roles in their preferred positions, and how many will have to consider taking a more defensively responsible role to earn spots with clubs.

- Interestingly enough, two of the prospects come from the same city! Midfielder Xavier Valorian and attacking midfielder Kevin Zimmer both list Chicago, Illinois as their birthplace.

- How likely is it that these players may get drafted by the SSL clubs in their home nation? Certainly trades could happen between now and then, but the current published draft order shows no picks for Hollywood, so the Americans will be traveling abroad.

Inter London could certainly pick one of the three players from England with the first pick in the draft. Lone Canadian Brock Sherwood could potentially be a target for Montreal, or Sydney City could draft Oscar Jebaseelan if he falls to them. Otherwise, there is not much overlap between SSL nations and this draft class.

- Looking for a wing back or full back to bolster your defensive corps? We apologize for the inconvenience. All three defenders in the class have listed central defense as their primary position. While there are several wide midfielders or attacking wingers, the defensive corps in this draft class is focused right down the middle.
