Since we are 8 league match days into the season, it’s a decent time to check in on how Nicolás Inclán is performing so far. I will admit this is much more straightforward when comparing how a baseball player does over a certain period of time, but I am just going to roll with it and see how it goes.
Sealer in the season, Nico was playing central defense, so his stats should reflect this fact. Going over the specific categories, let’s start with distance traveled. This is a fun one, as his transition to the defensive midfield has meant that he has gone from running only 11.3 km in his first match to making it 15.3 and 15 exact in his last two matches. I think this also aligns with the points I have dumped in his attributes like aggression and bravery. Maybe he is more apt to stick his nose in things up the field where before he stayed back. Without parsing out each and every game’s videos I will just have to leave it at this hunch.
Another fun category is his average rating. Now, I am not expecting him to be the hero each week, but I like seeing ratings in the 7s. He started off sub 7 with 6.7 and 6.8 in the season’s first two games. His last 2 games were more like it, with ratings of 7.02 and 7.16, respectively. Right on! Let’s hope he can keep the good times rolling there.
It also looks like his travels further up the pitch have given him the confidence to take a crack at things from distance on mor e that one occasion. Heck, in the cup game with Tokyo, Inclán took 2 shots! Let’s not discuss where they ended up, as they most likely weren’t great! Maybe I’ll need to put some TPE into long shots!
