What is there to do in the World?
#1
A lot of our time here is consumed with practicing and training with the team. Whether it is in Division 1 or Division 2, a league match or a cup match, players are always preparing themselves for the next game, the next practice or the next workout.

Depending how you look at it, athletes in this league are fortunate or unlucky. Some may say wow, he is able to play professional sports in his life, make millions of dollars and travel the world all whole playing a sport. My answer to that would be, once you become a professional soccer player in the SSL,it is not just playing a sport. It becomes your job. You have to perform day in and day out to stay relevant and stay good in this league. If not, there are other players knocking on the managers door looking to take your spot. A lot of stress and anxiety comes with being a professional athlete. And let us not forget, the number of people that look at you as an idol and a star and want to grow up to be just like you. On the surface, being a pro athlete is a dream come true, but it comes with a lot of baggage.

Now, adding that all in together, what do players really do with their down time? In reality, there is not much. Like previously stated, there is a lot of prep that goes towards playing and practicing. There are also team events and team charity events, visiting the hospitals and the schools for the kids and the people in need. Players enjoy themselves going shopping and going clubbing on off weekends. But that is all temporary. In reality, the sad truth about being a pro athlete, is that their life is consumed by the sport that they love and the job they have chosen to do.
