League and Cup Champions
Another season has come to an end with much to play for during the last matchdays for both divisions. Congratulations to Hollywood FC () for safely defending their Division 1 Championship from last season. The Division 2 trophy goes deservedly to AS Paris () who only lost out on 7 points during the entire season and comes back to Division 1. Accompanying them is CA Buenos Aires () who won their last game of the season and defended the second promotion spot. Taking their place in Division 2 will be F.C. Kaapstad and Inter London, the latter who was relegated due to goal differential from the last matchday.
S7 Off-Season
Per the SSL Calendar, the final week of the season is designated as the off-season, officially starting on Monday (January 23) at midnight PST. There are a couple of things that are important to remember about the off-season that we want to summarize here. Please see the relevant parts of the Rulebook for more details.
Pending FA period
Any player that is on an expiring contract (no contract signed for S8) is considered a pending free agent. During the off-season teams may contact a pending FA and negotiate a contract. The player is not a free agent until the start of the next season (January 30, 2023) thus they may still sign an extension with their current team during the week without reducing the team's transfer budget. We just make to make one thing clear: A manager may not force a player to provide intent to sign. This week is intended for players to be able to talk to teams and be shown alternatives for how their future may look.
Re-rolls and Redistribution
S6 (last chance) and S7 players may re-roll their player during this off-season.
This is also the last week when S7 players may redistribute 100 TPE and/or their entire positional XP. S7 goaltenders may also use this redistribution to conduct a full re-roll to an outfield player.
S8 Prospect Draft
We are also gearing up for the SSL Prospect that is scheduled for Saturday the 28th of January at 14 EST. More information and a dedicated link to the draft list is going to be published during next week.
Canadice and the BoD.
