Reykjavik go Back 2 Back
#1
For the second straight season Reykjavik United have claimed the Division 1 Championship in the Simulation Soccer League. This was another dominant performance by Reykjavik, as they have a 10-2-1 record after 13 games, with a goal differential of 29, miles higher than anyone else in the league.

In other positive news for the Reykjavik squad is they were able to beat London 3-0 in the second leg of the cup semi final and advance to the final with an aggregate of 8-2. Another dominant performance at both ends of the pitch for this Reykjavik team, who pretty much has the same roster as they did last season, with a couple of additions from their loans that came back this season.

The Scarpetta brothers were united once again this season, playing alongside each other as the two CBs for Reykjavik and it seems as though the time away from each other didn’t impact their chemistry, as they have been lights out at the back together, helping their team with that goal differential.

While the league has been secured, the true test now lies in the final of the cup, where Reykjavik will face off against Hollywood. This is a team with a history of winning in the SSL, and they just tied Reykjavik 2-2 on Matchday 13. These teams are at opposite ends of the division 1 table, but it’s not a team that can be taken lightly. We will see if Reykjavik can finally overcome the cup curse and take it home.
