Get to Know Duncan Walrusson
#1
Born in Zambia, Duncan decided he wanted to become a goalkeeper after watching the Yale NCAA Championship Soccer game that featured a future SSL star in Scott Sterling. Walrusson was inspired by Sterling’s shot stopping abilities and wishes to replicate that “give it all you have got” mentality for his own game going forward in the Hollywood/Kaapstad system. Duncan was delighted to be drafted in the first round of the draft and to go to an incredible organization. Duncan’s training regimen includes an extensive amount of time playing fruit ninja, a 3 hour VR gaming session on beat saber, an incredibly necessary two hour afternoon nap and a large amount of fish in his diet, preferably sushi. He will also occasionally practice dunking or alley ooping a few basketballs to work on his aerial reach. He also plays a lot of racquet spots to work on his movement and reflexes (and also for a lot of fun). It remains to be seen if Duncan will increase his on field practicing now that he has been drafted. Duncan is looking to be a reliable keeper for his team and work on adding more clean sheets to his record after gathering up 4 in academy and having the best save percentage in his season there.
