preseason and preparation for the 1st season
#1
What is usually expected of a newly drafted player is to spend a few seasons of seasoning in the minors before going up to the big leagues so you can imagine Alexandros shock when he walked up to get his minors green pinny and proceeded to receive a majors blue. The coach proceeded to walk over and pat me on the back and says “come on let’s get out there we need to get you ready for preseason, you are starting game one on Hollywood”. Alexandros knew he had some high expectations after being picked 3rd but no where in his head did he think he would be starting day 1 on the starting roster. He had spent so long on basics in the academy in preparation he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to live up to the hype in such a major role but he had a few days and staff were ready to help him prepare. The next few days were grueling, drill after drill after drill, the team wanted Alexandros to be ready and the main name of the game was stamina, speed and pace. They wanted him to make an impact right away and the next week of preparation was stamina. He was dead tired and resting but somehow for the first time, he felt ready, preseason had gone fairly well with 1 win and 1 loss. The first game of the regular season he knew he would look liked he belonged out there, far from the best player yet, but not making a fool of yourself thrown into the fire felt like a good start to his career.
