As Mikko Rashford III was preparing for his name to be called in the SSL entry draft, there were a number of places he knew he could end up. He would have been happy to play with whatever team chose him, but admittedly he was quite thrilled when Reykjavik called his name at 9th overall. This would give him the chance to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, Mikko Rashford II, who also still plays on the same team. The opportunity was an exciting one, and he hoped the familial connection would lend itself to instant chemistry between the two. Further, he'd also always wanted to visit Iceland, so to get the opportunity to not just visit there, but call it a home, was a very exciting idea. Rashford III carries with him great speed and offensive skill that many believe will see him be a threat in all situations, and rack up many assists for his team. Shortly after the draft, he received word that he'd get an immediate chance to play for his home nation of Zambia. It's been a thrilling time for Rashfords everywhere in the SSL. We will have to wait and see if either of the younger Rashfords can live up to the legacy created by the original, Rashford I, but either way, it is clear that they have bright futures ahead of them.
