Good afternoon Zach, and thanks for taking the time to sit down with us at the UnAthletic. It's been a whirlwind few months for you, from being a standout player for your academy team to getting drafted 11th overall by Sao Paulo and their Minors team Paris. How are you taking it all in?
"Thanks for having me! Honestly it's all been a little crazy, I feel like I've been non stop go ever since I got signed to the Sydney academy. Even this offseason has been wild, getting up to speed with the team in Paris and getting acclimated to a new city and living by myself has been an adventure."
How did you feel about the draft? Did you know going in that Sao Paulo/Paris was the place you would end up?
"I knew, or at least I hoped, that if I was still on the board when Sao Paulo came around in the second round that they snag me, but there were a couple teams that I'd had really great conversations with so I wasn't totally sure which would end up taking me."
How's it been so far? Settling in okay?
"It's been incredible. I feel like I've know everyone for years and we're close friends even though in reality I've just met them. I'm behind thrilled with the atmosphere around the club and how welcoming everyone has been. I just hope I can repay them with my performances on the field, I can't wait to get started."
