The World Simulation Football Classic has officially come to a close. All teams which participated showed their worth and talent these past days. The finals have been played and the results are in; Benelux are the new champions of WSFC! The final game was a surprising and well fought match between Benelux and West Africa. União São Paulo’s very own Nerve de Groot got the ball in the net but was unfortunately offside. However, at the eleventh minute, Aart de Trella scored a magnificent first goal to set the tone for the match. At the twenty-seventh minute, another goal was made at the hands (or feet) of Edwin van der Sloth. However, West Africa came back and scored two minutes later. As the first half dragged on, both sides were pressuring each other to no end. Once the second half started, West Africa shifted gears and started to put serious pressure on Benelux. Attack after attack came and there were several heartstopping close calls, but the defense managed to hold. Once the final whistle was blown, Benelux was seen celebrating along with their fans. A long journey has finally come to an end with victory. The final score being 2-1 brings an end to the WSFC and another exciting world cup.
