The art of skills, showboating, flair and creativity.
When was the last time you saw football and thought of these words? The modern game is evolving, but along the way we lost and we gained roles and knowledge about the beautiful game. Where's the classic no°10? The guy that maybe wasn't the fastest or the strongest but the moment he picked the ball up you just knew something was gonna come out of it. Now though, that has basically died. The same goes for flairy unpredictable players. Ronaldinho, Neymar, Hazard, you could also make an argument for Messi and young CR7. Where have they gone? Football has become more and more rigid and tactical. Maybe people enjoy the tactical aspect of the game more and it's not necessarily a bad thing, that's fine too. But everyone has to admit something, even with the rise of wonderkids like Yamal, the number of players with the ability to turn games around by themselves is drastically reducing, the rise of more physical players over more technical players to accommodate the needs of the new era of football. And so begins a new cycle, less players that truly get you off your seat. But as goes with everything, nothing lasts forever, so when will these players come back? That's not for us to decide, but what we know is that the beautiful game could (hopefully) one day return to its maximum splendor.
