Dear Mother
First away game on the team, it was nice to visit port royal again, although y'all were right that flying is a much different experience than sailing. So much time spent with airport related shenanigans, I think it took longer than the flight itself. I'd take a leisurely put across the ocean over this any day.
The match was ... frankly a disaster. We played fairly alight overall, but clearly our special teams training needs work.
I hate to admit that coach was right, but it seems that the *shudders* "Mario" training has been actually useful. I am being molded into quite the menace in the air. Not a threatening menace mind you, but a menace non the less.
We've also picked up a new teammate the other day. A yank by the name power. Another attacking threat it seems. I myself remain positioned at the back playing defense. Oh - how my legs yarn to go get involved in the action yet I can not allow this foolish desire any hold over me.
Anyhow, I took the opportunity while here to see some of the historic sites and whatnot. A quick trip to the beach as well. Expect photos soon.
Oh by the way, I saw you at the game vs Sydney, glad y'all could attend and that both myself and the team performed much better during that one. Do not feel the need to stick around in Ghana for too long, I know you and dad were looking forward to spending the spring back home seeing the extended family. I've been told that most of the matches are put up online for anyone to view after the fact. I suppose there's not too much interest in such low level soccer that there needs to be a media blackout or anything. I'll send you the link at the same time of the photos.
