GRADED: Digging for more.

"Diglett Primarus was a sight to behold on the field" a bold article stated, touting that witnessing a Pokemon play within the confines of a stadium, and not be battling another of it's kind in combat. A statement in truth full of it's own weight, and haughty on the serving of mediocre. Diglett Primarus was born of different cloth, like watching someone finally find the missing puzzle piece that had been abandoned on the kitchen floor for years. Going unseen and unfettered by time and the hands of fate until one day the table didn't turn as much as it, leaned and toppled over on it's self.

You see at first the crowd was bemused, A Pokemon; playing soccer. No one had thought that a Pokemon of free will would want this, there were no rules prohibiting this. It was just sort of known; Pokemon don't play sports. Either they would be egregiously overmatching and would be all that folks would recruit, or no one would dare recruit because lack of skill. Pokemon were hard to calculate in this manner. However a Diglet, playing Soccer.

The first head lines read it like a jest. Like something from a novel short introduction to a play would have. Something you could take your whole family and laugh at.

Laughter stopped keenly at the first match when Primarus open field passed to De Trella which opened the lane to Walker. Within seconds the ball was at line and Takechi was facing down the ball screaming in a shot at net from Gartista. Cheers and gasps were shared, the Diglet that they had mocked had just watched his first assist on goal land netside, all 5 minutes and 44 seconds into the match.

This wasn't going to stop though, as the energy was growing Primarus had another trick waiting. 10 Minutes, 42 seconds into the game Primarus did what he never imagined he could do in his past life; he made a goal. Scored a goal in a stadium full of people chanting his name.

No fire, or water, or poison clouds lighting up the stage. No crowds chanting "Pikachu" or catchy little phrases used. Just raw physical energy, lifting the tiny Pokemon from the humble ground to the fields of glory.

I'll rewrite the headline for you since it feels under selling in it's compliment; Digglett Primarus took the debut; sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too.
