Season 20 draft class by my count is about seventy activities deep. All of these are between 400-500 TPE at the time of writing this. Seventeen more are considered inactive users. I suppose we should begin by breaking down the numbers by positions.
7 of these are Strikers, and 1 inactive Striker.
7 Attacking Mids, with 4 inactive Attacking Mids.
7 R/L Attacking Mids, with 2 inactive R/L Attacking mids.
6 Center Mids, and 2 inactive Center Mids.
5 R/L Mids 2 inactive R/L Mids.
Of those only 1 is a Left Mid the rest are Right Mids
.
Let's shift over to the defensive side
5 LWB 5 RWBs none of the Wings backs are inactive.
5 Active Left defense and 3 inactive LD’s
3 active RD’s, with 2 inactive RD’s
4 active Center Defensive Mids
Eleven Center Defense, with 1 inactive.
4 active Goalkeepers.
So looking at that in a somewhat format as as only active we have
Now let's compare percentages of all the players available to the position chosen.
10.1% ST
2.8% LAM 10.1% CAM 7.2% RAM
1.4% LM 8.6% CM 5.7% RM
7.2% LWB 5.7% CDM 7.2% RWB
7.2% LD 15.9% CD 4.3% RD
5.7% GK
The only spot where inside players are outnumbered by outside players are in the defensive mid areas. This probably comes down to you never having two outside left players, if you have two in the same spot it's in the middle.
Let's compare that to the leagues active players position tracker, for primary positions
28 ST
19 LAM 26 CAM 20 RAM
6 LM 24 CM 6 RM
13 LWB 23 DM 12 RWB
19 LD 41 CD 19 RD
And now make comparisons via percentages of position.
10% ST
6.9% LAM 9.5% CAM 7.3% RAM
2.1% LM 8.7% CM 2.1% RM
4.7% LWB 8.4% DM 4.3% RWB
6.9% LD 15% CD 6.9% RD
6.2% GK
The few discrepancies as far as percentages of position make up is:
LAM - 4 percent decrease
RM - 3 percent increase
LWB - 4 percent increase
DM - 3 percent decrease
RWB - 3 percent increase
This is interesting because it shows a trend, it doesn't appear that the managers really use LM or RM positions much seeing as those are the lower percentage positions in the current league. This also reflects in the rookie s20 class as there aren't a lot of LM or RM chosen, its more RWB or LWB there is a very large discrepancy in position for LAM though, thats a 7 percentage in the league only filled by 3 percent in the s20 class. Perhaps this is a position I would want to consider filling seeing as there is a gap there. As a LWB perhaps I would be better served as an LAM. You can see that the number of defensive mid positions whether WB or DM has increased across the board up about 3%. Is this going to be a trend in the league overall? If you compare that to the pure midfield players there's more in the backline as defensive mids in the league period, and by looking at the trend increasing in the s20 class perhaps this defensive mids trend will be increasing. I think it will be an easy ask for me to play LWB or LAM.
