Post-match interview with Predrag Dobrić - Istanbul F.K. Sydney City 4-1
Reporter: What a game tonight Predrag and what a performance from you. Did you have a hunch the match would play out this way.
Predrag: Not at all. I've been solid all season but I never though I would have an explosive game like this.
Reporter: Your first goal came not even a full minute into the match. Did the team plan for that to happen?
Predrag: Well yes and no. We have several tactical variations on the opening of a match, if you can score early that gives you a boost of energy. But this wasn't exactly planned out. Dohbra was able to win the ball and served me up a beautiful chance and I smashed it into the near post side.
Reporter: But wasn't your third goal also only a few seconds into the second half?
Predrag: Yeah, I've got no cover story for that haha. At that point I already scored 2 in the first half and I was feeling invincible, at this early point in our careers it's all about mentality. Sydney was probably anxious I'd try to do it again, so I did.
Reporter: 6 shots in total this game, all on goal and 4 finding the back of the net. We've also taken a look at you stats this season so far and you have 17 shots on goal from which you scored 13 goals. That is a 76% conversion rate, how do you do it?
Predrag: I just keep calm and steady. No need to take high risk shots. Opportunities will come by and when they do, be clinical. That's how I look at it.
Reporter: And we're sure that your bicycle kick was completely risk free and a completely sensible thing to attempt.
Predrag: Have to keep a keeper like Satoshi on his toes. It would have gone in if he didn't save it. All the shots I made were serious attempts. I never do anything halfheartedly.
Reporter: You face Adowa Accra as the final match of the season and it's also away. You faced rivals for the 2nd spot back to back. Are you worried or do you have a plan to keep them at bay like today?
Predrag: Accra are a great team and we have to beat them if we wish to keep our 2nd place for the final day of the season. Congratulations to Port Royal for their win and they deserved to lift the trophy. To make my final comment regarding today's match Sydney played well and I don't want anyone to thing this was easy. I played my best game of the season today and I don't think anyone in the Academy could have stopped me.
Reporter: Those are some fighting words. We wish you luck in your final match of the season!
