FC Istanbul Ends Season with Disappointing Loss to Adowa Accra
#1
FC Istanbul closed out their academy season with a rough 4-0 loss against Adowa Accra. While the result didn’t change anything in the standings, it left a bitter taste for Istanbul’s players.

Adowa Accra took control early, with Zlatan Gibrahimovic scoring in the 6th minute. Istanbul struggled to respond, and things got worse when Gibrahimovic struck again in the 33rd minute. Just before halftime, Ronflex added a third, making it 3-0. Istanbul barely had a chance in the first half.

As always, the expectation was for Istanbul to turn things around in the second half, but this time, there was no comeback. Despite an even 50/50 possession split and similar shot counts (13 for Adowa Accra, 9 for Istanbul), the difference was clear, Adowa Accra finished their chances, while Istanbul didn’t.

In the 82nd minute, Gibrahimovic completed his hat trick, sealing a dominant 4-0 win. With this result, Adowa Accra secured 2nd place, while Istanbul finished 4th. Port Royal claimed the league title.

And with that, the academy season came to an end. Stefan Davidović bid farewell to his teammates, wishing them luck in the upcoming draft, one of the biggest in league history. Now, his next chapter begins!

This was not the ending we wanted, not the way we wanted to close out the season. A 4-0 loss is tough to take, especially in a game where we felt we could have done so much more. Adowa Accra came in determined, and from the first whistle, they were sharper, faster, and more clinical. Zlatan Gibrahimovic wasted no time showing his quality, scoring early and setting the tone for the match. We struggled to find our rhythm, and by the time he got his second goal, it felt like we were always chasing shadows. Then came the third right before halftime, and at that point, we knew we had a mountain to climb.

We went into the second half believing we could turn things around, as we have so many times before. We kept fighting, trying to break them down, trying to create something. The possession was even, the shot count was close, but football is not about statistics. It is about taking your chances when they come, and that is what Adowa Accra did better than us. They were ruthless in front of goal, and in the 82nd minute, Gibrahimovic sealed his hat trick, putting the game beyond doubt.

Despite the loss, this season has been a journey. We have fought hard, grown as players, and learned from every challenge. Now, as the academy season ends, some of us will move on to new opportunities, while others will continue the fight for this club ( Mr Vinnie and co shall lead the club to its golden era if it works like that). Stefan Davidović and others are heading into one of the biggest drafts in league history, and we wish them the best of luck. No matter where we go from here, we will always be proud to have worn this badge. This is just the beginning.
