GRADED: ELO Post season 19

With season 19 being done, and season 20 around the corner. It is time for the new ELO ranking, with this being the last one with only 16 teams.

Like visible above, Reykjavik retains the top position, although both them and 2nd place Schwarzwälder have lowered in ELO ranking compared to last season. Tokyo remains in 3rd having gone slightly up compared to last season, the 4th place still remains Buenos Aires, although they have come a lot closer to Tokyo this season.

However in 5th we have our first change, Hollywood FC having overtaken Romana and North Shore despite losing some ELO. Then in 6th we got our first Minor League team in North Shore, who have been overtaken by Hollywood, but have overtaken Romana, however despite this they have still lost over 100 points. Then in 7th we got Sao Paulo, who with their 180.62 ELO gained have been the biggest winners this season having overtaken London, Catalunya, and Romana. Onto 8th place we see Catalunya, who have overtaken Romana, but been overtaken by Romana.

 

Now onto the 2nd half of teams, very close to Sao Paulo and Catalunya we have Romana, who fell from 5th to 9th being overtaken by Hollywood, North Shore, Sao Paulo, and Catalunya. Romana on top of this is also the teams which lost the most ELO, losing 194.81 ELO. Now we really get into the Minor League area with us having had all Major League teams. The 2nd highest Minor League team is the league winner Montréal United having surpassed Kaapstad and London. After Montréal we have Kaapstad, who have been overtaken by Montréal, and have overtaken London. Next up is Seoul, surpassing Athenai, Cairo, and London. Then finally we see London, who have fallen very far having been overtaken by Sao Paulo, Montréal, Kaapstad, and Seoul. Then comes Paris which have overtaken Cairo and Athenai, and finally Cairo and Athenai are 15th and 16th respectively having both been overtaken by Soul and Paris.

 

Now for next season we have 4 more teams joining, 2 in the Major league, and 2 in the Minor League. I am not yet sure if I let them join on 1200 ELO each, and let natural progression even it out, or if I start them on the league average ELO (1402.55 for the Major League, 997.45 for the Minor League).

The cases would be the following:

1200 ELO: The teams would be right in the middle, with 8 teams (7 Major league, 1 Minor league) above them, and the other 8 teams below them.

1402.55 ELO Major League: These teams would then be starting as the 5th and 6th best teams, only seeing Reykjavik, Schwarzwälder, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires above them.

997.45 ELO Minor League: They would be the 14th, and 15th highest teams (including the new Major League teams), seeing Athenai, Cairo, Seoul, London, and Paris behind them.

My current though is to start them on 1200 TPE like all other teams right now.

I think 1200 is best probably. I like the consistency and both orgs should probably be expected to be likely midfield at best for their first season.
