Something Milan Horvat loves is his van. A lot of people don't understand why a world footballer drives a van everywhere, and that he doesn't even drive an expensive van. What people don't ask is what he would use the van for or even what the van means.
Milan loves minivan, his father loved minivan, his grandfather loved minivan, even before they ripped out its brakes. Milan comes from a very very long line of sheepherders. He has put lots of money into getting permission from the Brazilian government to allow him to bring to his new home all the weapons his family wielded over the years. From a people who relied on pulling carts themselves the van speaks to them. Its much like any type of oxen or horse that was unaffordable to them the van has shown to be a more reliable and realistic vehicle for them to bring their product to a city to sell. The covering makes it so that they never have to worry about the rain soaking their product. The all-wheel drive makes it so they never worry about getting stuck in mud. The large flat space to carry stuff was more than relative trucks had and modern ones offered to hold things in special pockets. Milan has used his minivan to carry all this stuff and keep stocks of whatever he might want at any moment, like extra soccer balls, cleats, or even a minigoal for when the feeling takes him to take them out and run a few drills in the mountain. Often he just goes to random parks in the community and pulls out better gear for all the poor youths that the sponsors give him for this. Something about playing on park grass and with loose rules just for fun spoke to him and having the van made it possible for him to do on a regular basis.
