Around him there were strange figures all screaming in pain, as confusion turned into fear he started to shiver. He heard the story of his teammate Criminal about some giant ghost owl in the locker room, but this feels different, maybe Athênai and its players are truly cursed.
Then a voice out of nowhere said:”DO NOT WORRY MY OLD FRIEND FOR THIS ACCOMMODATION IS ONLY TEMPORARY”, Santori recognised this voice, it was no other than his former Academy teammate at VFE now playing for Cairo TERMINUS ULTIMUS who he continued: “YOU ARE TOO DANGEROUS TO BE LEFT IN THE FIELD, YOU ARE CAPABLE OF MANY THINGS, YOU HAVE SHOWN TIME AND AGAIN OF WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE TO DO WITH THE BALL IN YOUR FEET, YOUR SPEED IS SECOND TO NONE, AND YOUR MIND IS SHARP AS A KNIFE; FOR ALL OF THESE I DECIDED TO TEMPORARILY SECLUDE YOU IN THE REALM OF THE WRETCHED SOULS, DO NOT FRET MY FRIEND FOR YOUR TIME TO RETURN TO REALM OF THE LIVING HAS ALMOST COME”.
Santori, now even more scared, tried to ask some other question to the voice, but it was almost like his mouth couldn’t move, he wanted to scream but no sound could leave his mouth; he was alone with a gigantic amount of souls wandering around and screaming in pain.
Then it was all light, Santori woke up all sweating and pale as if he saw a ghost, “where am I?” he screamed, the question was answered by one of the medic of Athênai:”Mister Santori you should calm down its bad for your health, you currently are in the nursing, you got tackled too hard yesterday and hit the head hard on the ground, do not worry it isn’t anything major, you will be dismissed in a couple of hours, it would be best for you to get some rest you were twitching all night in your sleep”
On his way home Santori couldn't stop thinking about whether what he witnessed was real or just a dream. It didn't matter, for him it was real.
Once home he tried rewatching the foul trying to understand what happened but there was nothing to see, no one saw the scene, no one recorded it, nothing.
“Maybe I should stop drinking too much coffee, it makes me have bad nightmares”
