Pablo's Minor League Season Prediction Recap
#1
Pablo already made a Minor League Season prediction before the season began, but now that we are reaching the latter stages of the season. Let’s do a recap of the season, and see how bad my picks were at the start of the season.

1.      AS Paris – WOW! What a season from them, definitely had them in the top half of the mix (Prediction 3rd), but didn’t expect them to have such a strong season. By the time we are hear in Week 16, they are currently top of the table with 37 points, with a 12-1-2 record. Led by Belmont with 18 goals already this season, and Dybala with 13 assists which both lead the league, they have found some gems for the future of their major league team.

2.      North Shore United – Currently sitting in 2nd place with a great season again with currently 32 points, and a 10-2-3 record. Predicted them to finish 4th, as I thought they may lose some talent to the majors, but they have delivered once again. Derbatov who is 2nd in the league with 12 goals, and 4 players in the top 10 in distance covered per game, this is a team that hustles. Great work!

3.      Montreal United. Okay they are currently tied with Kaapstad in what I thought was going to be the close battle at the top. I had Montreal finishing 2nd, and they still have a chance for that with 2 games left in the season. They have dropped 4 games this season which is more than they definitely expected though. Sinclair with 99 goals, as well as Skovgaard dropping 7 assists this season, the main 2 up top have done their work. They just needed stronger play in the back it seems.

4.      Kaapstad. I thought this was the season for them. Unfortunately for them, just too many draws on the league table, but some important stats coming in from Ashworth with 10 goals, and Tortellini on the wing with 9 assists. Some strong play coming out of Atliketwopercent in the backline definitely contributed to some strong play coming out of their fullbacks. Although the title is out of reach, they definitely can still get a top finish.

5.      Seoul – I got a prediction right! Although, they still have a chance to get to some of the top spots. They went crazy with this rookie class, and they put in some big results. Top scorer being their top draft pick in Barr picking up 7 goals, and De Giron is 2nd in the league from his fullback position in assists. Kawasaki is also near the top of the table in passing, and near the top in interceptions. These rookies have paid off!

6.      Krung Thep FC – The expansion squad got Pablo another prediction right in 6th place. A great opening season for them, as they did a good job balancing rookie and veteran players. Roger with 9 goals on the season, and with Mamba (8), and Elliot with 7 assists a piece, it has been a collective effort from the squad. Shoutout to Patterson who has been one of the top rated players as well for this squad.

7.      Inter London – The good streak continues for Pablo as London has found themselves firmly in this position with couple of games to go. London is a team that loves to pass the ball with 3 of their players in the top 10 in passing. However, what has helped them a lot this season is strong defensive play, being as a team near the top in interceptions, as well as successful tackles. Something to build on!

8.      Cairo – Still points to be played for in the bottom 3 teams, but the team I had at the bottom is up two spots! Shturm with another strong season with 8 goals, and couple of POTM for their squad, Cairo definitely focused on the rebuild this season. They will look to continue to develop, and have a strong upcoming draft as well. Sinclair also has the matter of holding the only Red Card of the Minor League season!

9.      Athenai – I had them finishing the top of these 3 teams, and with only 1 win on the season, it has been a tough one for this squad. They just haven’t been able to find the goals when needed, but Still does lead the league in successful passing, while Rubin is a workhorse with some of the most distance travelled. Lorequavius is one of the top in interceptions as well, so there is some highlights for the team to build on!

10.  Rapid Magyar – I figured this would be a tough season for them in this one, but this is definitely a team in 2 seasons that should be battling near the top. Justinussen provided 10 goals, while the defence of Lind, Tut, and van Garrisen were all league leaders in successful tackles. They have a lot of the right pieces, it will be just bringing them together.

At the end of the day, Pablo can feel okay with his predictions, but loves to see that there is some mixup, and excitement. Hopefully he will do better next season!
