'Local hero takes shot at SSL academy'
It all started when Ozzy Trent Kovács saw an advertisement for a try-out at his local football club. Playing golf and tennis for most of his youth it was the first time he tried a team sport. He never really had a massive interest in football but decided to sign up and see where it would end up.
It turns out he has a killer left foot that caught the attention of the trainers immediately, attacking the top bins from practically any position no matter the pressure he was under. "I've been coaching at this club for many, many years. But I've never seen anything quite like this" said the long time head coach. "I've never felt this powerless in goal" says veteran goalkeeper Divekovsky.
Kovács time at the club was for this reason very short lived as the news spread to the SSL Academy scouts. Eventually Stockholm IK won the bid for Kovács. It is now up to him to prove himself in the academy to see if he's worthy of a spot in the minor/major league teams.
"I know it's a big step up in terms of playing level, I will do whatever I can to show the managers I can be an asset to their squads. I'm looking forward to the academy season with my new team mates and team bosses."
