An expansion proposal for you, free of charge
#1
While it be nearly impossible to ever pull me away from SfV, a younger me with more free time might step up to run an expansion organization. As it stands, the only younger me is my new player who needs some Academy Task TPE, so here we go!

The big caveat is that I've gone back and forth myself on which of these should be the Major and which the Minor. It would take but a very small breeze to convince me to swap them around. But here's where my thinking has settled as I write this...

We have two teams on the east coast of South America, which makes sense given their size. CONMEBOL is such a storied federation that it deserves even more love. I considered Uruguay for the real world history, but it's sandwiched right there between Brazil and Argentina. As we have an Academy team in Columbia, I wanted to go futher south and be sure to get right on the Pacific Ocean. So of course the answer was to refine my old Machu Picchu concept into something that could actually work.

So I settle down into Lima, the capital of Peru, sitting at the base of the Andes, in a valley of three rivers (sound familiar?!) and right along the coast. Any club in Peru must celebrate the mountains while also acknowledging the importance of the sea. Real life Lima is home to the Regates rowing club alongside many association football teams. I imagined a sporting club that would include both, at least at its founding. Then I began to imagine a coat of arms style crest which would highlight both the mountains and the shore, flanked by a llama (representing the animal husbrandy passed down from the Inca) and a bull (representing the tradition of bullfighting in Lima). Then I updated the concept for a modern, wordmark heavy logo that includes all the same elements. Say hello to Club Deportivo Tierra y Mar!

Then let's stay in the western hemisphere, to balance out the growing number of Europeana and Asian teams. Adding a team in Mexico was a great move for the league, no doubt. But we're still overlooking the most famous locale in North America. I see absolutely no reason a country can't have two teams if it's large enough, so I will no longer let us ignore the city so nice they named it twice: New York, New York!

Like Hollywood representing Los Angeles, it would be boring to just slap the city name on a team when we can find some character by diving into the neighborhoods. If you want a fun, eclectic borough that will really come out and support a football team, you can't do any better than Brooklyn. And all American teams need a nickname, so I dove a little into history for this one. With a little hat tip to the once-and-current New York Cosmos, my main inspiration was the now defunct Astroland theme park on Brookyn's Coney Island (since replaced by the similarly space themed Luna Park). I grabbed the actual design of Astroland's signature ride and welcome sign, superimposed on the instantly recognizable Brooklyn Bridge arch, for the logo of your Brooklyn Rockets!

I'm an amateur designer, so obviously we could get somebody to clean these up a bit. The ideas are solid and I can write another thousand words of marketing speak on these colors (Earth, Sea, Incan Pink; Asphalt, Steel, Dutch Dream!). I don't actually plan on proposing these (unless you want me to to!) but I had to get them out of my head.

Free of charge? What's the catch?

I jest. These are some solid choices! Overlooked by many with a rich history of football in the respective locations. Peru is a solid shout.

And as someone who has no creative talent pertaining to graphics at all, these are stellar to start with.

Huge amount of effort as gone into this and it deserves it's reward.
