A brand new face joins the SSL pitch this week. After very little preparation and more hemming and hawing than most could stand for, Dwayne Pruney has found his way to the Academy.
With little more than a twinkle in his eye, he sets his sights quite high among the SSL’s elite.
“I honestly don’t know much about the league. In fact, everything about it is quite literally brand new. And I’m okay with that. I think it’s going to be a fun experience to give it a go. Will I flame out? Probably not. Will I be great? Also probably not.”
Very often, new players come to the league with a level of excitement and a hope that is untamable. In this particular case, Pruney has been around the fringes of the league for some time but has never quite made his way through the security gates of the league’s stadiums. Only time will really tell if this guy is here to stay or if he’s just another raisin drying in the sun. (This is supposed to be a pruned joke).
Pruney is looking forward to an opportunity to meet team owners and learn more about each team’s plans for the future. Hello SSL. I’m moderately excited to be here.
