Coming from the Icy depths of Chile, Juanito Perez is one of the most outstanding Chilean prospects right own. As a well balanced Center Attacking Midfielder, he knows how to get the ball to a teammates feet. It just so happens to be that I got to interview him yesterday as I was in the Punta Arenas international airport for a layover flight.
"So Juanito, how do you feel about going to Medellin to join the Medellin Academy?"
"I got to say I am really excited, I've heard good things about the city, and I am honored to have been picked out of all my teammates."
"About the city, do you have anything planned to do when you get there?"
"Yes I do, the first thing I will do when I get there is go to the lake near there, since I've lived all my life in Punta Arenas, I have never been able to wear a swimsuit and swim."
"That sounds exciting, but tell me, how does a player like you mentally prepare for such things?"
"When I am doing things like this, I like to listen to music and mentally block out all of my feelings, as they do nothing but interfere with my playing."
"Wise words Juanito, thank you for having this interview with me, I have to catch my flight, I will be rooting for your success in Medellin"
"Thank you"
Although he looked like any other person, you could see the ambition in his eyes, I hope this is the start to a great career.
