Henry Andrews Jr. walks into the room and takes a seat at a table in front of reporters from many different new outlets. He has recently been drafted by the Reykjavik United organization and is heading into his first season with their developmental team, North Shore United.
The first question is one that many are wondering the answer to.
“How does it feel to be drafted to the same organization as your father?”
“I’m very excited to follow in the steps of my dad and am lucky to have been selected by an organization as highly respected as Reykjavik. They were instrumental in the level of success he enjoyed throughout his career and I am confident they are the right place for me.”
“Do you feel any pressure to perform up to the level of Henry Sr.?”
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel like I was constantly in his shadow or being compared to him, but I just see this as the next challenge to take on in my career. Me and my dad are two very different players, so we can’t really be compared. I’m not trying to be like my dad though, I am just trying to be myself.”
The next questions go to his fellow Reykjavik draftees and the moment finally starts to sink in. He finally made it to the SSL and is a member of Reykjavik United!
