Post-game interview with Jiang You
#1
I've recently had an opportunity to speak with Sydney City's newest striker after the first match of the season.

Sidney City reporter:
First off, welcome to Sydney. No hesitation on getting things started here! Can you describe what it means to you on grabbing the first goal of the season?

Jiang You:
Thanks, happy to be here and get the ball rolling. One of those things that you just want to get it over with, once the first goal is scored, it eases a lot of pressure from everyone and I can play more freely to hopefully grab some more.

Reporter:
What are your expectations with your time here at the academy?

Jiang:
Expecting to get plenty of game time and experience to show the big boys what they'll be getting once my academy days are over.

Reporter:
How are you getting along with your new team? Are they rival competitors, or are you all interested in the same overall team goals?

Jiang:
Can't be scoring goals without the team. We're a cohesive unit and operate as such. The boss wants us to have some friendly competition internally and it will give us a lot more drive to give a performance each match.

Reporter:
Thank you for your time. Best of luck this season.

I always enjoy interviews and encouraging users to work together! However, I did find the depth to be lacking and it wasn't really structured as an "interview" per se. It was more a Q&A, which is fine but meant there was less of a hook. If it was longer, or if the questions built upon the responses for a conversation so that the piece was more engaging, the grade would be higher.
