Last week, after a long night of Kung Fu Basketball, Clamence and Large Box were headed home to their apartment complex when they heard a loud pop from the adjacent woods. Clamence asked Large Box if they should investigate for possible ghosts as a source of the sounds to which Large Box responded "I know about Denver Ghost Hunts. Don't talk to me about Ghost Hunts like I don't like Ghost Hunts. I LOVE Ghost Hunts. That said, that wasn't a ghost. And I'd know. I love Denver Ghost Hunts."
Convinced that the noise was not that of a ghost, Clamence still wanted to head into the woods to find the source of the pop. As they headed deeper into the woods, towards the sound of the initial pop, they heard a static noise slowly rise in volume. The static noise was near overwhelming and soon the moon-lit forest became brighter with an artificial glow overhead in the distance. "Could this be aliens?" Large Box pondered. "Might be... let's hope we aren't abducted," Clamence responded.
The glowing light soon took on the form of a well lit treehouse, 30 feet above the two. Unsure if they should investigate, they timidly climbed the ladder. As they reached the top, they found the treehouse had a wrap-around patio on which they could creep around in hopes of understanding the source of the light. They found a window and quietly raised themselves so that they might peer indoors. To their surprise, there was a little green man inside the tree house, frantically pointing at a television, screaming "THE TV! THE TV!"
Clamence and Large Box didn't know what to make of what they'd seen. Clamence turned to Large Box and whispered "Let's get out of here, we gotta call Marcus." "Who's Marcus?"
Clamence and Large Box lept out of the treehouse and landed on the soft forest floor, rolling with precision and safety learned from Kung Fu Basketball and ran away, agreeing to never speak of this to anyone.
