Post-Match interview with Stockholm's Miguel Oliveira
#1
Miguel Oliveira made his SSL academy debut last Thursday, but unfortunately it will not be one for the history books. It was his failure to mark Sydney’s Jiang You that led to Stockholm suffering their first and only goal of the match within the first 3 minutes of the match. Although he would later make up for this mistake 8 minutes later by making an incisive pass to John Faxe-Kondi, this proved to not be enough to rescue the victory, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. In a post-match interview Oliveira remarked that he is eager to “Iron-out” his “defensive kinks” in the training ground, noting that his drive and determination had gotten him this far and that he wouldn’t let one mistake at the birth of his career define the type of player he would become. When questioned about his goals for the season, Oliveira said “improvement is my main focus, becoming the best player I can possibly be before the draft is incredibly important to me and I want to prove that I’m worthy of playing at the top levels of the league, but I also want to make sure that everybody on the team succeeds, after all I’m only one of eleven players on the pitch and if I want to improve, I need to work with everyone else in the training ground”.  Oliveira is looking forward to the academy season, and he will certainly be one of the full-backs to look out for, come the next draft.

Short, sweet, and to the point. While it lacked a more solid structure, the article showed solid engagement with the league and on the player themselves. A few stylistic changes to incorporate a more compelling structure and to improve the flow of the article would result in one of the higher grades.
