PARIS, FRANCE -
Our first four games have come and gone, and we've done nothing short of playing out of our minds. When I first stepped foot on the pitch for AS Paris, I never could have dreamed I would be where I am now. I always knew I had the talent to be playing with some of the best in the world, but to be at three wins, one draw, and not a single loss in the first four games? Just goes to show what a group we've got over here.
Personally, I've been having a blast on the field. When I am on that pitch, really able to spread my wings and get the wind in my feathers, there is no other place I'd rather be. I came into the league having played my whole life on the left side of the pitch, thinking that's all I'd ever need to be on. Maybe I would move to a striker role if things got bad, but left of the pitch was all I ever knew. Kind of wish it took way sooner than my first week with Paris for someone to tell me that was a bad idea, and I should've been on the right side of the pitch all along. Ever since making the swap to right attacking midfield, the game feels brand knew and more exciting that it has ever been.
Seriously, looking at my stats before and after the swap is like looking at two completely different players. Massive credit to my coaches for helping me get accustomed to the change in position, because I have been making a huge impact! In those first four games, I've put two balls in the back of the net, on eight shots, and have helped teammates get the ball in the net five other times. I've been succeeding on passes nearly 80 percent of the time, currently tied for first in assists in the league, and even got Player of the Match for a two assist performance!
To call my time at Paris so far as anything less than amazing would be an incredible understatement. The coaches have opened my eyes to many new tactics and playing styles, and my teammates have been nothing short of fantastic to play with. I know we can keep this pace up and continue to dominate on the pitch and in the standings. In short time, I know I'll be filling up my trophy shelf at home with many trophies that I have won with my team!
