After the game against Victoria Falls, we were able to intercept Atletico Medellin's coach and its winger Caroni Riveras right before they mounted the bus that would take them to the airport. Our reporter Roberto Di Piazza was able to get a few statements.

"A win and a heartbreaking loss for Atletico this week, are you satisfied with the performance of the team or do you think that you could have done better?". "I'm very pleased with with the progress Medellin is making overall." said Medellin's coach to our reporter, but when we asked the same question to Riveras we got a different answer, which highlights the different point of view between the coach and the players "We could have definately done better. There was a moment where we were down 3-2 where I was able to dribble my way into Victoria's box but I shot it over the crossbar, if that had made it we could have walked away with at least one point."

"Speaking of the loss, it came when not much time was left on the clock, do you think that that loss of focus was caused by tiredness?".  "I do think that lack of concentration was the issue. Tenderloin was trying to set an offside trap but Mandragoran had to back track to keep up with the opposing striker. That miscommunication created the space for Victoria's midfielder to play the ball over Tenderloin's head. Gotta give credit to Victoria Falls supporters, they gave their team the energy needed to win the game in the last minutes." admitted the coach with a sigh. There wasn't much to argue for Riveras, that just added "That's harsh, but fair. We were up 2-0 by the 20th minute, we should have been able to get something out of this match."

"One last question, we are already halfway through the academy season and Atletico is sitting pretty high on the table, do you think that the team has what it takes to continue the race for the title in the second half?". "I'd mark us as favourites. Cappellari, Riveras, Perez and Mandragoran have been impressing in trainings lately. I think with continued player development and some tactical refinement we can take on any team in the academy." as for Riveras, he decided for a more cautios approach "It's possible, but I would rather take things one match at the time."

We even asked Riveras, right as he was leaving, who would he like to see again as a teammate after the draft and here is what he said "I would say Tenderloin but he is ineligible for draft...so if I had to pick it would be either Peixoto or Cappellari, although I have been enjoying playing with everyone."

An injury scared Medellin's staff and supporters, but it seems that Peixoto will be able to play already next game. With only 7 games left in the season, the race for the title has never been so close.
