"Again!" the Rova coach shouted, and we returned to our set positions for the set piece drill we'd been working on for the last part of this training session. We had a pretty big match coming up against AF Masques Sacrés, our expansion rival, in the 16th match of the season, and if we could pull off a win in this match we'd pull ahead into sixth place in the table, a big accomplishment for a team in its first year of existence in the SSL. Harvey Danger, our regular inbounder, kicked the ball in a high arc toward the net and I tried to get to the spot where I needed to be to set up the play, getting there just before the marking defender did. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough to set up the scoring opportunity that the coach was looking for.

In the 27th minute of the next match, we were trailing 1-0 when Javon Smokes got the ball to me near the middle of the field. It was an awkward position to receive the ball, but I managed to just barely get it away to Alex Stain running up the left side before the defender arrived at me. Stain perfectly found Takeda Takahashi in front for the tying goal. With the infusion of momentum, we managed to get the go-ahead goal in the 54th minute with another nice pass from Alex Stain to Tank Denstro and then held on for the big victory to propel us into sixth place.

Succinct but packed with content. A deeper insight/engagement tool would have elevated this to the peak, but still a very enjoyable read.
