Academy Task 5: Weston McNuggie through the lens of an idiot
#1
Well here it is 11:45pm on Sunday night, knowing I should probably turn off my lights and head to sleep, but why not do this deep dive that I have been procrastinating on forever? Sounds good to me. So tonight/this morning (when I am likely done writing this) I will be taking a deep dive on Weston McNugget through the lens of myself, swoosh, who I will refer to as McKennie’s agent of sorts.

For a little bit of background, I signed McNugget because well…his name is awesome. Now is probably a good time to let the two readers (hi mom) know that my soccer knowledge is pretty minimal, at least compared to other sports. I enjoy watching big games, most notably the world cup, but most of my soccer knowledge comes from playing FIFA growing up. Now that we took that detour on myself, back to McNugget. Who does not love nuggets? I could eat them every single day. It was love at first sight for me. And his name also reminded me of one of very few soccer players I am familiar with: Weston McKennie. So the choice to sign him and have him be my first soccer player I have ever represented was an easy one.

Onto McNugget, he's a CAM from Washington. Well CAM is used lightly here as he was actually an American football player before being discovered by a mouse who thought he might be good at soccer. So McNugget said what the hell and tried out for the Simulation Soccer League. Somehow he did enough to impress the scouts because he was drafted/signed/something to Port Royal F.C. of the Academy. That team was managed by a familiar name for me in Crunk, someone who I know from the International Simulation Football League where I have represented other bums, I mean athletes. I knew McNugget was in good hands with Crunk. The bad agent that I am, I did not watch McNugget much during the season but checked in every now and then. I was excited to hear that McNugget was performing quite well. From a team perspective, Port Royal F.C. went 10-4 with 30 points, 47 goals for, 21 goals against, and a goal differential of +26, all of which were best in the Academy. Surely this was mostly because of Crunk and McNuggie's teammates but this piece is not about them so let's just pretend this was all because of McNuggie.

McNuggie finished his season with a 7.39 rating. I have absolutely no idea what that means but I would guess this is out of 10 which means that's a C. Hey, a C is a passing grade so that is a win right there. He also finished the season with nine goals and four assists. Over twice as many goals as assists, I would say the guy is a ball hog who needs to learn to pass a little more. Now thanks to an article by Lpapi, I have some more advanced stats to go over. McNuggie had 33 dribbles (like I said, ball hog), 6 chances created (rookie numbers), and 27 successful presses. No clue what a successful press is but I wager it is better than an unsuccessful press so good on you McNuggie. You might not be worthless after all.

Well at this point I am well over the 500 words requirement so I hope that reading this wasn't too miserable.

McNuggie was a lot better than not worthless. But I wouldn't mind if he shared some of this goals with Turk.
