Off-Season Interview with Thomas Schwarte
#1
Hello everyone! Welcome to this off-season interview with LWB Thomas Schwarte of Port Royal F.C.
We are having a chat about his academy season and will be looking ahead towards the SSL Draft.

First of all welcome Thomas and congratulations on winning the championship with your team of Port Royal F.C. how are you feeling now that all the celebrations are over?

Thank you for having me! I'm feeling great. We had a great season as a team and achieved something we could only dream off at the start of the season.
Ofcourse our manager @Crunk has been a great coach and mentor for us as first time players.
He put everyone on the right spot and pushed us to get better every day.

Great to hear you are doing well. That leads me to my next question, how did you find the experience in the academy of the SSL?

Well I can only say that it was a great experience. All players, coaches and teams were great fun to play with and against.
The flights to the station could've been a bit better ofcourse as only flew with RyanAir and with my body my legs were stuck between me and the one in front of me. *Thomas laughs*

It sounds like you and your teammates had a great experience and the SSL will, ofcourse, improve the flight experience based on your feedback, haha!
With that out of the way, how do you look back on your own performance this season?

Well, I think I did quite well. The start of the season was not that great but I grew into the championship. I felt that the step from the amateur leagues to the academy was quite a big one.
However if, I look at the magazines, an average rating of 7.19, scoring 1 goal, getting 7 assists and having the most Key passes and successful crosses it doesn't look to shabby.

Are there any parts of your performance you would like to improve going forward?
Well ofcourse as I want to get to the big leagues I will have to! I would like to improve my interceptions so I want to work on my positioning during defence. Then ofcourse, as I'm still young, I would like to improve my pace and accelleration.
This is something I would need to do anyway but going forward it will have my priority.

Thank you for that answer, I would think that scouts are already contacting you. Is that right, and if so can you go into more details?
Well yes there have been scouts asking for my services for the future. However I can not go into any details because that would jeopardize my negotiating position. What I can say is that scouts are looking at me and there has been questions if I could be retrained to a different position. So I will be looking forward to the draft and the future.

So definitely no details? Then we will leave it at that. Can you, as a last question, give some expectations about what the teams can expect from you?
Nope! Haha! So what my new team can expect is a player that has a sense of humour, that likes to get his hours in and doesn't mind to step into a new position. I think I will leave it at that!

Okay! Thank you, Thomas, for being open during this interview. I wish you the best of luck for the future!
Thanks to you to and we will see where I end up!
