União São Paulo have officially done it. They are SSL League champions! With five points ahead of 2nd, the team has achieved victory in the SSL majors.The final match against CF Catalunya signaled the end of the season with the final score being 4-2. Although it was already known that they had guaranteed their 1st place spot, the team still played their hearts out like they always have. Four of USP’s best, De Groot, Hashimoto, Rubio, and Cotswold, all scored amazing goals while only two goals were allowed in. União São Paulo closes the season out on the top of the standings with 57 points. Hollywood FC and Reykjavik United followed close behind with 52 and 50 points respectively. The Netherland’s very own De Groot racked up exceptional numbers. Throughout the season, Nerve has scored 21 goals and assisted 19 times. Looking back on how far he has come, De Groot says that he is proud of his team for their performance and teamwork which enabled them to get to where they are today. With another season just around the corner, it is back to training for the players of União São Paulo. They now have a title to defend.
