Truth been told, Bob Berendsen has been flying high. After joining AS Paris they have gone on to win all 4 of their opening matches.
A perfect record for Bob in the minors and frankly most people would love to be in his position right now.
Yet there was something gnawing at him, seeing his fellow academy prospects like Arsene N'Goussou hit bangers into the back of the net like no one's business.
Freddy Adu, his former teammate also finding the back of the net on several occassions and even Lucas Peioxoto being involved both by scoring and assisting and already having a POtM performance.
Bob felt like he was being left behind, sure he had gotten close, he had put in some decent shifts but still he had been unable to score a single goal, provide a single assist.
A big change from being one of the difference makers in the academy, to just a cog in the well oiled machine that is Paris.
He tried to keep his head high and tried to shake the feeling, he had another match to play, AF Masques Sacres, a formidable opponent, one that had two very familiar faces in Luke Walker and Seth McNeil.
Bob felt like he had to perform, he had announce himself to the world.
The match started and early on Paris won a penalty and who else but Belmont finishes 1-0 Paris.
Then in the 36th minute, Bob gets the ball on the edge of the area, makes an incisive pass to Tarandus.... AND HE SCORES 2-0 as Bob has his first goal contribution in an AS Paris shirt.
Hopefully there are more to come.
In the 73rd minute Belmont gets a second to finish the game 3-0
