Scotts Scouting Scoop #3
Welcome back sports fans, tea drinkers, chaos enjoyers, and anyone who just wandered in here accidentally. This is Scott the Scout with another piping-hot scouting scoop, hotter than a pot of stew left simmering since sunrise on a prairie homestead. We had goals, we had rookies, we had interviews, and we had Victoria Falls forgetting how to take a shot on target. Let’s get into it.
Sydney City 3-2 PS Jakarta
Sydney City marched into this one with the swagger of a man who just found a gold coin under his boot, and they walked out with the points to prove it.
Francis Mburu
Mburu stepped up like he heard someone doubting him in the stands. Scored a fine goal, threw in some classy defensive work, and walked off with a 7.6 rating. That is what exceeding expectations looks like.
Huxley Vin Merritein
Huxley was everywhere. Ran 14.3 kilometres, finished his goal like he was settling an argument, and bossed the midfield. If you wanted peace and quiet, you should have picked a different pitch.
Takaharu Suzuki
Clearing danger left and right, Suzuki showed the sort of workrate you usually only see from folks getting paid to chop wood by the tree. Important defensive contributions, even while listed up front.
Oscar Action
The name says it all. Action burst into life from the first whistle. Nearly grabbed an assist, then grabbed one properly, then spent the entire first half terrorising the right wing. He bombed up and down the flank like a man possessed, sending crosses into the box for absolutely everyone.
Allen Gray
Bagged an assist, ran like he stole something, kept the tempo high. Another tireless shift.
Lisfor IlovezeagLe
Zeagle flew again. Gorgeous assist for the second goal, lightning runs down the wing, one lovely finish scored and another almost tucked away after a slinky dribble. A highlight reel performance. Deserved POtM performance from the eagle.
I reached out to IlovezeagLe for an exclusive interview:

Hi Lisfor IlovezeagLe, this is Scott the Scout from Scotts Scouting Scoop. Do you have time for a couple questions?
"Yeah of course"
Great! First question: You had a player of the match performance last game against PS Jakarta, why do you think you were able to stand out so much?
"I think I show my quality more and more each match day"
"Some people are just better"
Love the confidence! Second question: Sydney currently sit third in the table, how confident are you in your, and your teams ability to make a push for that top spot?
"This Academy is small potatoes, I have my sights set on higher levels, ultimately I care about how I do, not how Sydney might not have enough juice to showcase my abilities"
Eyes set on the prize! I like it! Third and final question: Are you interested in personal accolades like top goalscorer or ending up in the academy team of the season, or are these not focusses of you?
"If I don't end up in the Academy Best XI, know that there's some crooked money changing hands. I expect to be a lock for that team"
Thank you for your time! Goodluck with your next match and keep your eyes out for Scotts Scouting Scoop #3. Scott the Scout.... OUT!
"You're welcome for being able to see me play"

Wow! A lot of bravado from the whippersnapper, but for now he manages to back it up.
İstanbul FK 2-0 Stockholm IK
Debut day for Jerry Kirkland, Stefano Rosini, Austin Morley, and Patrick Zwieg. A tough match away from home against the league leaders. None of the rookies stamped their mark, but first games are like first pancakes. Often misshapen, always forgivable.
Scott the Scout (thats me!) managed to procure this 1 on 1 interview with Patrick Zwieg:
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hello Patrick, this is Scott the Scout from Scott’s Scouting Scoop. Got time for some questions?
''Hello. Yup of course.''
You just played your first match in de Academy League losing to top of the league Istanbul FK, do you think having a late start in the season impacted this loss or were Istanbul FK just the better team on the day.
''No excuses in football mate. We were outclassed and deserved to lose.''
''But hopefully the tides turn soon and I can impact in a positive way.''
Winner’s mentality. I respect it. What can we expect from Patrick Zwieg this season? How do you describe your style?
''Everything. Goals, assists, I do it all and I am just getting started.''
''I am a very competitive player. Hate losing. Love to banter.''
''Just a DAWG on the field.''
Beautiful answer. Last question. You have a home match coming up against Adowa Accra. How do you see it going?
''They are a good team so it will be a great match. Me and the team are feeling good going into it.''
''We will give it everything to take the win this time.''
Thanks a lot. Good luck and keep an eye out for Scoop number three. Scott the Scout… OUT.
''You bet. Thanks and good luck with scouting.''

Something tells me this will not be the last we hear of Patrick this season!
Port Royal F.C. 2-0 Victoria Falls
A match Victoria Falls will not be putting on their highlight tapes. Zero shots on target, no rhythm, no spark. Rough day at the office. Rougher day on the pitch.
To better understand what was going on in the minds of the team I spoke with Bodhi Grizz:
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hello Bodhi Grizz, this is Scott from Scotts Scouting Scoop, do you have time for a quick interview?
''Hello Mr.Scott! Sure why not! Im not doing anything atm''
Excellent! This will be over quicker than a racehorse on a bed of coals
First question: Tough loss against Port Royal FC last match, how has the defeat affected the team morale in the locker room in your opinion
''That was a difficult match. Specially coming off of a pair of strong wins. If anything it helped us acknowledge that we still have some work to do and need to keep up with our training. I would say our moral is still high. We know well come back stronger next time.''
Perfect! second question: Victoria is now in second place with 7 points, next match will be against İstanbul F.K. who is in first place with 10 points. A win here could mean going top of the table, how do you prepare for such an important fixture.
''Gotta treat it like its any other game. We can't let them get in our heads just because they are ahead of us. Aside from the team practice I'm trying to make sure i work on the basics. Making sure I'm on top of my positioning and working at marking my man better. As a defender i gotta make sure that i don't let their strikers have the room to take shots comfortably. Really make it unBEARable for them.''
Amazing! onto the third and final question: As a CDM you often have a more controlling and less noticable impact on games, however against Sydney city you went straight GRIZZLY bagging a goal and an assist. Was this a one off performance or will we be seeing Bodhi on the scoreboard more often?
''As much as it feels nice to score. I would much rather be giving the ball to our strikers. Giving it to Peach or Scat to put it in the net. I would rather other teams see me as an obstacle they have to play around. Leaving them with BEARly any room in the middle of the field to shoot from. I might take a shot hear and there. But if i can I'm gonna make the pass to our shooters and trust them to get it done.''
Awesome! Thank you so much for your time, goodluck on your match tomorrow and keep your eye out for edition #3 of Scotts Scouting Scoop. Scot the Scout..... OUT
''Thank you for the interview! It was fun! Cant wait to see the next report!''
