Domination...but not for me

Matchday six against Montreal should’ve felt like a dream for Bob Berendsen. An 8–0 win, the biggest scoreline of Paris’ season so far. Goals rained in from everywhere. Dunkler Sowerwine opened with a ridiculous long-range banger, Eden Empire IV bagged a hat-trick, Belmont added two of his own, Greedy McFootcakes slotted one, and poor Hans Grudnar scored an own goal and had his penalty saved by João Cancelo.

Everyone around Bob seemed to sparkle.
But Bob himself?
He had mixed feelings.

He did his job, kept his flank tidy, and stayed part of the machine. yet while the scoreboard exploded, he never felt like he was part of the explosion. Every time Paris surged forward, it was someone else finishing the move, someone else getting the roar of the crowd.
As the final whistle blew, he clapped, he smiled, he celebrated and he meant it. An 8–0 victory is special no matter what.
But walking off the pitch, a small knot formed in his stomach.

Not jealousy, just that creeping imposter syndrome.
“When will it be my turn?” he wondered.
Still, six wins out of six, Paris flying, and Bob learning.
He reminded himself: contribution isn’t always measured in goals.
And deep down, he knows his moment is coming.
