North Shore Rising
#1
As we approach midseason, Zaza Banana and the North Shore United are back and hopeful for a strong finish. While it seems pretty clear there is a large separation between 1st and 2nd place in the minor league, there are only 3 points separating 3rd through 10th and so the club has their work cut out for them if they want to finish the season high in the standings. Banana is back to his goal scoring ways for the team, but he hasn’t been the setup man the way he was in the past. Banana has eight goals and zero assists and has become such a threat that he is one of the leaders in drawing fouls. He has created a lot of xG for the team and is currently 5th in the league in that stat, but is really over-performing by scoring far more than he is generating. Is he lucky or just that good?

Meanwhile North Shore is a season older, but the players still have at least a season or two to go to be truly dominant barring any major callups by Reykjavik. The young goalkeeping and defense are all a season older and Banana and Brodie James continue to drive the offense. It will be interesting to see how things shake out for the rest of the season and beyond.
