This season of the league is reaching around the midway point as the teams continue to hammer away at each other. Matchday 8 led to some very spectacular moments for Uniao Sao Paulo. Taking place at Vientiane Complex in Mata-Utu, Uniao Sao Paulo faced off against A.C. Romana. The first half consisted of two goals from Sao Paulo’s Ryan Kirkpatrick and an own goal from Romana’s Brannigan Stoush. To kick off the second half, Romana’s Predrag Dobric managed to shoot past the defense to get his team on the board. Sao Paulo responded with a quick goal from Julian Rubio in the 51st minute. In the 74th minute, Ben Nelson scored but was responded to by a goal from Ryan Van Eyndhoven four minutes later. After an intense back and forth, the game ended with Uniao Sao Paulo winning 4-2. USP’s offense dominated the game with a whopping twenty seven shots on goal as opposed to Romana’s 9. The player of the match went to Rubio for his amazing display up front. The second half of matchday 8 takes place soon as USP can rest easy knowing they have pushed themselves further up top. Uniao Sao Paulo sits at 3rd place currently as 6 more teams play their matches.
