CS Rova Mpanjaka Preview
#1
CS Rova Mpanjaka took the league by storm last year as they continued on their upward trajectory finishing 3rd in Season 23, a slight improvement on their 5th place finish. As Season 24 is just around the corner, lets preview what Mpanjaka can have in store for us and whether they can further build on an impressive S23.

The positives:
Mpanjaka have mostly retained their core; most importantly their heart of defence, whom kept 8 clean sheets last year, which includes their keeper Rean Schwarzer, and defenders with the likes of Aren fjord, Joseph Mathys Hendry and Jay Cue Jr.  We've seen time and time again how crucial defence is to winning, especially when the defenders have years of experience playing together. They know each others preference and style of play and that synergy can outdo any expectations.

Even on offense, Retaining Tank Destro, someone who can, no pun intended, tank his way into the opposition box and create chaos. With 18 G/A last year with one of the best shots: goal ratio and some of the best aerial ability in the league, he will be hoping to take yet another leap this year. He will be once again reunited with his partner in crime, Thomas Schwarte, who despite being a defender was able to get 12 assists!

and it'd be wrong to cap off the positives without mentioning their superb incoming draft class of Lisfor ilovezeagLe, Otto Rocket and Patrick Zwieg. Three players with superstar potential, all of them would be eager to make instant impact for them.

The Concerns:
There are two big holes in their team, The biggest one would be due to the call up of Orla Hughes-Galloway, She had 15 G/A including 3 POTM performances, she was at the heart of Mpanjaka's offense. Her absence will truly be felt in Mpanjaka especially if her replacement Patrick Zweig isnt able to get going from the instant.

A big area of concern could very well be their defence, yes you heard it right. They only have 1 natural center back in the team and would have to compromise by playing a CDM or a LD/RD at CD. Look as I earlier mentioned, the synergy is there and it can very well put this concern to rest but if it doesn't, Mpanjka's biggest strength can become their weakness this year.

This will be a very crucial year for Mpanjka, several analyst including myself expect to see them in the title fight, will they be able to clinch the title or slowly fall back to the mid table? Only time will tell....
