Minor Division Team Comparison
#1
With the Minors now being split into two divisions, we thought it wise to look at the teams in both division and see who really does have the most talented squad on paper. For this we will be looking at each team and calculating their average TPE by the players they have on their books.

The TPE average will ONLY be calculated by using the teams top 11 TPE players.

Division 1

AS Paris
TPE Average - 1,132.18
0 Inactive players

F.C. Kaapstad
TPE Average - 1,053.36
4 Inactive players

Krung Thep FC
TPE Average - 886.45
1 Inactive players

AF Masques Sacrés
TPE Average - 856.64 (1 retiring at end of season - Day Walker (1224 TPE)
2 Inactive players

Montréal United
TPE Average - 787.82
1 Inactive players

CS Rova Mpanjaka
TPE Average - 776.36
4 Inactive players

Division Average - 915.47

Division 2

North Shore United
TPE Average - 1,178.55
3 Inactive players

Rapid Magyar SC
TPE Average - 956.64
4 Inactive players

Seoul MFC
TPE Average - 952.18 (1 retiring at end of season - Red Panda (841 TPE)
5 Inactive players

Inter London
TPE Average - 794.27
6 Inactive players

Athénai F.C.
TPE Average - 683.82
5 Inactive players

Cairo City
TPE Average - 657.00
1 Inactive Player

Division Average - 870.41

So some interesting information can be concluded from this. North Shore United on paper have the best 11 players in both divisions, which probably shows why they lead the way in Division 2 scoring 4 goals a game. Both Rapid and Seoul could easily be competing within Division 1 with their average TPE placing them 4th and 5th respectively overall. Rapid currently sitting in 2nd with a 5 point gap to Seoul will be hoping they can take their chance an advance into the top division. Either way, a team that is worthy of the top division will be left in Division 2 come the end of the season.

AS Paris impressively having zero inactive players is a testament to the management. Ensuring their players stay active means improvement comes and players in the Major team can be replaced with quality. It also means players dropping down from Majors to Minors keep up the high level of competition, with success being breed into their younger players before any player makes the jump to the Major team.

AF Masques Sacrés will have to contend with losing an important player in Day Walker when he retires at the end of the season. With him being way ahead of the team average TPE and one of the better players in the league, that does look like it will be something management will want to fix come the end of the season. Whether it is via trade, draft or another player dropping down from the Majors, they will need to have a plan going forward.

So there is the comparison between the teams in the two divisions. A lot to unpack and surprising outcomes.

Till next time, you stay classy San Diego!
