Well this season ended on the stinkiest note imaginable. Double relegation after what was a double overperformance last season, with both teams making good headway earning a top division spot. But this season was loss after loss after loss. No offense, reasonable defense, and absolutely no highlights. I’m not in it for the highlights, I’m not a Cup chaser, and I’m loyal to my team and to my franchise. They’ve put their faith in me, and I’ve seen what happens when I put my faith back into them. We can be electric. But we weren’t this season, and we’ve lost activity from some really core members of the squad moving forward. My fellow draftees, now entering their third seasons, we’re slipping. That was a big class for this franchise, and sure, there’s some good TPE there, but we could be so much more. Maybe this season wasn’t meant to happen, maybe we bit off more than we could chew, but next season was supposed to be another step up. Next season was supposed to be a midfield finish, clawing at the top of the table. Not fighting for promotion again, on both fronts. I don’t really even expect to win division 2 next season, I think it’s far more of a tossup than one might initially expect. That’s at least a season, if not more, where we were supposed to be moving forwards, where we might not be able to. That’s the real loss, that’s the tragedy of this season. We can’t root on the Majors or the Minors squad in their pursuit of some midfield points. Both are starting from scratch again. But I know I’ll at least be a diamond in the rough, and I’m eager to bring one of these squads back where they belong.
