Wynne's Wonderland!
#1
Never really had the academy route growing up. Wasn’t getting picked up or brought into setups like some others were. It was always just grassroots football for me, week in week out, playing on whatever pitch was available and just getting on with it.
Early mornings, cold days, changing in the car half the time, but I genuinely loved it. That was the main thing. There wasn’t any pressure or spotlight, just turning up, playing, and trying to improve without really knowing where it would lead.
If I’m honest, I was probably overlooked a few times along the way. But that either stops you or pushes you, and for me it just made me want to keep going. I backed myself, kept working on my game, and tried to become someone who could actually impact matches instead of just being another player on the pitch.
That’s where “Wynne’s Wonderland” comes from really. It’s not meant to be perfect or overly structured. I like getting on the ball, driving forward, taking players on and trying to make things happen. Sometimes it won’t come off, but I’d rather play like that than play safe.
Now stepping into the SSL, it feels like a proper opportunity to test myself at a higher level. Different environment, better players, more eyes on it, but the mindset stays the same.
Just go out there, express myself, and see how far I can take it.
