The cup game against Cairo came and went and once again FM can't judge a game at all. It gave POTM to OHG who yeah she scored a goal and was in pretty good position for most of the game. But Dybala now there was a player who knew what he was doing. The opening goal in the 7th minute OHG got a header from Miedema for the goal, but if you watch closely, Dybala had a run ready to go on the other side of the box which would have been an even prettier goal, AND the first player to pump up his teammate there? Leandro raising his hand happy that his teammate was able to get a goal. Then goal 2 for the day which was the final one for this game, OHG put the cross in and the only reason Dybala didn't get the goal is because he was getting mugged by the Cairo defenders. A shame that poor sportsmanship led to a missed goal but at least Takahashi was there to get the goal that should have rightfully went to Dybala.
The rest of the game was scoreless but Dybala was always in position waiting and played a heck of a game defensively. Just didn't get the goal and so FM judged him more poorly then they should have.
Maybe they did better next game....
Speaking of the next game, it was the 5-0 win over CABA lets see how FM did this time.
We've seen it now time and time again. But really now. Why would it give POTM to Carolien Miedema when she ONLY scored 4 goals?
It was pretty clear to me that Leandro Dybala was the best player on the pitch in Liffeysides 5-0 victory over CABA the other day. This is the 2nd straight snub for Leandro. @GHamss was quoted after the game stating, "Didn't you see Dybala? He was everywhere today, his name may have not shown on the stat sheet, but without him being in the perfect position time and again, then Carolien probably comes away with just the one PK goal."
After all it was Dybala whose shot at the 19 minute mark that missed broke the concentration of Satoshi. Which allowed OHG to get the opening goal. And on that goal Dybala was standing perfectly placed for a cross if OHG had decided she wanted an assist instead of her goal.
Then in the 46th minute when @LtForestPuppy sniped the cross that was intended for Dybala on the far post? Just outrageous. Goal number 3 was the PK and who was the first person to give Miedema a pat on the back? You guessed it the real POTM Leandro Dybala. Minute 83 goal 4 for Liffey. That ball was crossed by Superhoops aiming for Leandro. And then out of the air pops up Carolien again! Taking another goal away from our forlorn hero. The final goal Dybala was also right there in the box ready for the pass but @boom must have wanted to stat pad for Miedema as she passed it right by Leandro to get Carolien her 4th and final goal. But as you can tell dear reader, the team and the sim had it our for our star RAM this game but hopefully they'll know better next game.
