Walker Brace denies Athênai F.C.
#1
In a close affair it was Seoul MFC who came out on top against Athênai F.C. with a 2-1 win, thanks to a superb brace by Luke Walker.

Seoul did all their damage in the 1st half, their first goal coming from a corner which Walker volleyed into the net at the near post. The joy on his face all too apparent when the ball hit the back of the net. He was seen to be winking at the Athênai F.C. manager @CamGoldenGun as he worked his way back to his own half for the kick-off. Obviously these two have history having played together previously at Masques Sacrés.

Things turned from bad to worse for Athênai F.C. when Staple's pass back to the keeper was intercepted by Walker and put into the net with relative ease. Again he clearly enjoyed scoring this goal and this time hit the double "finger guns" at the Athênai Assistant (to the) Manager this time @Giacomino_raiola, his former manager of his academy team.

While Seoul MFC did appear to step off the accelerator in the 2nd half (a common theme of their season), Zilla took full advantage in the 69th minute, getting onto a superb set piece cross by Munoz to head in and give themselves a lifeline back into the game. But Seoul MFC managed to hold on for the vital win that shoots them up the table into 4th.

Walker had this to say after the match, "Haha what a game! Wow, to score those goals in that fashion was great. No doubt I'll be getting some messages from their management team for my antics but I'm sure they know it was done all in good humour. Known the guys for a long time and appreciate the support they have given me during my career. But today I had to go out and do my job, this team put a lot of faith in me to provide moments like this and I was delighted to show my quality, pick up my first MOTM award and show the fans exactly what I can do. Expect more to come, the rest of the league may watch out!"
