2026-05-23, 03:49 AM - Word count:
With the season being close to over, and someone mentioning it a few weeks ago, I decided to make an article based on a article chain I might a few weeks ago, that being the unofficial champion ranking. Now for the people who don't know what is this unofficial champion thing. First off it is based on a real world unofficial champion thing that I have at least seen for football/soccer nations which sees it all as more of a championship like you have in boxing. Now what counts as an unofficial championship match, basically every match that includes the unofficial champion at that point. The results can be the following:
A - Current team wins - In this case they will get +1 championship, and keep the unofficial champion title
B - Draw (or penalty win) - In this case the unofficial champion title will stay with the team that had it going into this game, but neither will get a championship
C - "Challenger" wins - In this case the challenger gets +1 championship and gain the title.
Now to start this whole chain we need to find 1 match to start this all with. Looking back at the original 1st matchday in S1 there were 3 matches, these being Athenai-London, Cairo-Tokyo, and Rio-Hollywood, and as Athenai-London was the first game of the stream this game will be used as the original game, which makes London the very first unofficial champion. Eventually they won against Tokyo and Rio (so 3 championships), before losing it to Cairo in matchday 4 who then kept it for a bit beating Rio, Tokyo, and Hollywood, before losing against Athenai in matchday 8 who beat London in the 1st leg, but then lost against London in the 2nd leg of the semi-final, who then beat Hollywood, and lost it to Tokyo in the cup final, who lost to Rio in matchday 10 which was also the final match of season 1. That was it for season 1, maybe I will in the future try and make some more detailed ones for the individual seasons but for now I just wanted to use season 1 as an example of how it would go. Then let us go to this current season, season 25, which started with Reykjavik being the unofficial champion, who then quickly lost it to Sao Paulo in the first friendly match, who then lost it to Xelaju in the 2nd friendly match. Xelaju beat Sao Paulo for the shield, but then lost it to Catalunya on matchday 1, who then lost it to Shanghai in matchday 2, who lost it to Hollywood in matchday 3. Here it stayed for a bit longer with Hollywood beating Xelaju, Catalunya, Reykjavik, and Shanghai before losing it to Sao Paulo in matchday 7, who lost it to Catalunya in matchday 8, who lost it to Reykjavik in matchday 9, and they lost it to Sao Paulo in matchday 10. Sao Paulo then kept it right up to this very moment, by beating Hollywood twice, Xelaju, drawing against Paris and Catalunya, and beating Shanghai to go into matchday 15 as the unofficial champion.
Now onto the current ranking. Be aware this does have all the original teams (so rebranded teams are separated). Furthermore as it is automatically generated the current champion (so Sao Paulo) has 1 extra match (as they are already filled in as the current champion for the upcoming match).

I hope some people found this interesting :)
