Academy Questionnaire

As you have now completed the rest of the Academy Tasks that covers most of what it means to be a player in the SSL, the Board of Directors would like to get a sense of how you felt the process worked.

Please fill out the following questionnaire and post a verification word in this thread to complete the task.

A verification word is a way for us to verify that a user who has submitted a form is the same user on the forum. This system is used for all of the league's uncapped PTs where you submit something through a Google Form.

Academy Task #5 - Make a Purchase in the Store

During your player's career you will earn money through contracts and some Career PTs. You can use this money to make purchases in the Player Store. To facilitate this process we have created the Store Assistant which summarizes your purchases into a formatted text you will paste into the Store Purchases thread for the Bankers to process.

To complete this Academy Task, follow the instructions in the store for the purchase of the Academy Task #5 item.

Academy Task #4 - Submit an Update

Academy Task #4

In order to improve your player you must (create and) submit a post in your Player Update Thread. Every player creates one update thread, which you will need to create in the Academy Players Updates subforum.

The title of the thread should follow the format (SX) PLAYER NAME - UPDATES, where X is replaced with the class season of your player (shown on your player page from Academy Task #1) and then fill out your player's name. It is in this thread you will submit updates that the league Updaters will go through and approve (or reject) every week. It is customary to summarize all earnings in one post/reply until the point when the Updater has gone through and given their reply in the thread. In order to simplify this process for all parties we have created the Update Assistant that automatically converts what you have earned and the updates you want to do to a standardized format easy to understand and follow.

To complete this Academy Task, follow the instructions in the Player Updater Assistant and create your first summarized update. You can include the links from Academy Task #1-#3 and claim them with this update. To claim the 2 TPE for Academy Task #4, just refer to the update post in the claim.

Academy Task #3 - Complete a Point Task

Apart from an Activity Check you may complete one of the other Capped Tasks to reach the weekly cap. You may choose from:

writing a media piece (article)
replying to a media piece
making a graphic
recording a podcast
submitting an Affiliate PT from one our our Affiliate Leagues

The requirements for each of these tasks are given in the descriptions of each task subforum.

To complete this Academy Task, do any of the listed items above except the Affiliate PT.

Academy Task #2 - Complete an Activity Check

Academy Task #2

Every week you are able to earn 12 Capped TPE from a variety of tasks. Each task gives you 6 TPE, so in order to earn to the cap you will need to complete two different point tasks (PT).

The simplest of these tasks is to complete an Activity Check. Every week, the PT team posts a thread in the Activity Check subforum, where you post a reply with your player name and your team.

To complete this Academy Task, post in the open Activity Check thread for the week. You may directly claim this post on your update page for 6 TPE, on top of the Academy Task earning. Claiming tasks will be covered in Academy Task #4.

Academy Task #1 - Create a Player Page

The first task is to create your player. If you are looking at these tasks it is most likely that you have already completed this task. If you have not go to the Create a Player Guide to get the first steps completed.

After approval you will find your player page in the Academy Roster subforum.

To complete this Academy Task, post the link to your Player Page in your Update Thread (you will learn how to do this in Academy Task #4). You can find this link by copying the url in the browser or by right clicking the number at the top right of the post.

Submitting Roster Changes for FM

Submitting Changes for FM

Any change that you want to occur in FM, whether it be additions or removals of players, a change in tactics or a rotation in the starting XI, must be posted before the submission deadline of the Matchday in the respective team's submission channel on Discord..

Submitting Tactics to Simmer(s)

A new tactic should be sent to the simmer(s) as a .fmf file that is exported through the Tactics View of FM22 AND a screenshot of the Tactical Style and Formation. The .fmf file is used for the tactical instructions, mentality, formation and roles whereas the screenshot is used for the selection of players. If there are any discrepancies between the two parts, the simmer will only use the part they are meant to cover. For example if the screenshot has a Ball Playing Defender role on the right central defender position but the .fmf file has a Central Defender role at the same position, the simmer will use the .fmf file's role.

Details on what can be included in the tactic submission can be found in Section 4 Subsection 3 Rule 1 of the Rulebook.

The latest FM save file can be accessed through this subforum and after you have downloaded the .fm file, you need to move it to your FM's games folder. It is usually located in C:\ Users\USER\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 22 on a Windows computer, and a similar path on other operating systems.

To load the save file, you click on Load Game on the FM22 start menu.

Next you select your team in the dropdown menu on the top right.

Select the Tactics menu from the bar on the left.

Create your tactic changing the mentality, tactical style, formation and player roles and duties until you are satisfied. To save your tactical style as a .fmf file you click Save in the dropdown menu of your currently selected tactic. Save the file with a relevant name to the matchday you are submitting for, for example Athênai F.C. S3 M1 for the first matchday in season 3 for .

The file is now saved on your computer in the tactics folder of your FM documents.

Share this file with the simmer(s) alongside a screenshot of the Tactical Style and the starting XI. Make sure that the screenshot is legible for the simmer to read.

Substitutions should follow this format:

Acquiring New Players

There are four ways you can acquire new players:

Prospect Draft

All new players created prior to the Prospect Draft are eligible to be drafted by any team. You are allowed to start scouting the player once they have been approved and moved into the Prospect Subforum.

Waiver Wire

New players that are approved after the Draft Eligibility deadline (see Rulebook) can be claimed through the Waiver Wire. You are allowed to start scouting the player once they have been approved and moved into the Prospect Subforum.

A waiver claim for a new player is placed in the Waiver Wire. If another team has started a claim process for a player, you are able to place a claim in the relevant thread, i.e. do not create a new one. An Accountant will process the claim in accordance with the Rulebook, and you are able to invite the player to your locker room, move their player and update pages, and start discussing the contract if you have successfully claimed the player.

Trades

You can trade with other managers to acquire assets for your team. In order for the trade to be official all involved managers must publicly accept the trade in the Trades Subforum. See the Rulebook for all restrictions of what can be traded.

Free Agent Signings

Players that are not currently on an active contract can be signed by your team as a Free Agent. Active players can be contacted directly and discuss a contract whereas inactive players can be bid for in accordance with the Rulebook. All players signed through Free Agency will reduce your team's Transfer Budget in relation to the player's Transfer Value.

Any signing is posted in the Transfers Subforum.

Contracts

When posting a contract of any kind in Signings Subforum for new contracts or extensions and Bonus Subforum bonuses, you are expected to follow the following template. You MUST STATE:

Player name
Username
IA or Active contract
Rookie or Normal contract and if you are signing one of your Exempt Rookie Contracts
Each season the contract covers and its salary
If it's a currently signed player, is this a Re-negotiation or an Extension
If it's a Free Agent signing, the Transfer Value

An active player signing must accept their contract in the thread whereas an inactive signing does not.

Release a player

When releasing a player, a manager must tag the user(s) in question and for each player note the number of games played by the player and the team at the time of release.

A player may only be released if they fulfill the Activity Requirement at the time of release.

Your team subforum

Your team subforum contains all information pertaining to your team, including your players. It is located at the bottom of the list of categories.

Moving pages

Whenever you make changes to your roster setup, acquiring new players through trades, waivers, draft or signings, they will need to be moved to the relevant forum. All managers are set as Moderators for the two player page subforums
Prospect Roster and Free Agent Roster and the two player update subforums Prospect Updates and Free Agent Updates.

Moving a topic on the forum can be done by:

1. Go to the subforum where the page you want to move currently exists. There should be checkmarks on the right hand side of each topic. Mark every page you want to move from this page.

2. In the Moderation Options at the bottom of the page, select Move Topics and then With Selected.

3. Select the destination subforum you want to move the pages. If it's a player page it should be moved to your team's Roster subforum, and if it's an update page it should be moved to your team's Player Updates subforum. Click Move Selected Topics to move them.

Team History and Information

On the main team subforum you as a manager have permission to post topics relevant to your team. An example of how this can be done is found here.

Simulation Soccer League Player Rulebook

The following Rulebook is designed to create a framework for our players and managers to operate within order to keep the league fun, fair and structured. These rules have been created, copied, altered and edited from previous leagues. Any rule discrepancies found need to be reported to the Admins and Board of Directors. Admins and Board of Directors reserve the right to make changes to the rulebook at any time.
