Romana challenged my patience, resilience, and development. From the very first matchday, I assumed a starting position as a central defensive midfielder, which required me to adapt rapidly. I honed my skills in disrupting the opposition's play and initiating attacks from the back and learned to maintain my composure throughout a demanding season. Although the team's performance was not particularly remarkable, I acquired significant experience within a tactical framework that demanded considerable effort both defensively and in terms of ball possession. Throughout 16 matches, I completed more than 750 passes with an accuracy of 87%, contributed 12 key passes and 54 progressive passes, and recorded 18 interceptions with a tackle success rate of 63%. While I did not achieve any assists or goals, the essential statistics were present, and I am confident that I improved my skills with every game. As I approach S20, I aim to transform those moments of creativity into tangible results—aiming for more assists, a more effective press, and hopefully, my inaugural professional goal. Whether I continue as a balanced central defensive midfielder or transition into a more offensive role, this rookie season has laid the foundation for my development as Andres Pedrillo. Onward. REJECTED - Does not meet word requirement of 300 words @anuragb RE: #2 Rookie Season - zeagle1 - 2025-04-22 CPT1 Joao Peixoto had a fantastic rookie season for Uniao Sao Paulo, and hopes to build on it for the future! [/url] Joao was immediately called up to the majors roster, where he started every game at center back. In his 17 games, he managed to score twice off of headers on a total of 13 shots on target. Naturally, Joao's biggest impact was on the defensive side of the ball. He had 103 successful headers on 139 ariel duals for an impressive 74% win rate, to include 11 key headers. Joao started his career showing tha the truly is one of the most elite headers of the ball in the league. Additionally he won 30 out of his 43 tackles, for a win rate of almost 70%. He had 60 interceptions, 39 clearances, and blocked seven shots, showing how well rounded he was at the back, winning the back back in many different ways while also keeping the ball out of the net. Most crucially, he didn't have a single mistake leading to a goal throughout the entire season. Joao kept it clean, only giving away 13 fouls and only got one yellow card and no red cards. Sao Paulo had a surprising season, finishing third in the league when many expected them to be near the bottom. They were even hanging around the top of the table for much of the season before slightly falling off towards the end. Sao Paulo totaled 7 wins and 3 draws to go with four losses in the league in the season. Sao Paulo did not have much luck in their cup campaign, but this allowed them to focus on the league. Overall Joao had a very positive rookie season that he will look to build on. Sao Paulo is on the upswing and should be competing for titles very soon, and Joao hopes to receive some postseason awards sooner rather than later! That was not a name that Predrag expected to be interested in him. During the scouting conversations, he was sure Romana or Shanghai would pick him up. But the Germans wanted him for Montreal and wouldn't budge, no matter what trade was offered their way. It soon became clear to him why he was picked. Yes he was a good striker who came in 2nd for the Academy golden boot. Yes he was an active member of the community. Yes he was very impressive during his interview and managed to score 4 goals on the game the scouts came to watch him. But all of these things were secondary. No, the main reason Montreal wanted him was his mind. Predrag had proven himself in a way even he didn't expect during his Academy season. He became Istanbul's de facto Tactician. Suggesting which roles and positions the team should use and even simulating results. Istanbul, thanks to the efforts of all the players, ended up being part of the title race. Alas Port Royal was too difficult to surpass and tragedy would even strike on the last game day, causing Istanbul to fall from 2nd to 4th. All this effort was not in vain. The scouts heard from Predrag's fellow Istanbul players about how he worked with them to achieve results that, though ultimately unsuccessful, helped them compete even with only 7 active players. Montreal had just won the Minor league after 5 seasons of North Shore United dominance and the organization was keen on not letting this be a one season wonder. From the S20 draft they only picked 4 players: Matias Xavier, Takeda Takanashi, Cade Power and of course Predrag Dobrić. Predrag's job in the team was simple but far from easy. "Win the league." He was to create a system that would ensure a back to back title. Montreal was not willing to let their momentum slip. North Shore United was on a downward spiral so they wouldn't be a threat to the title, but Kaapstad and Paris were looking to be threatening. Predrag doubted his capabilities, after all, this was a lot of responsibility to through to a new player. Nevertheless, he took to it like a fish to water. Before the pre-season friendlies had even started, Predrag was working on a skeleton tactic that would serve as a base to be tweaked based on match up. The effort proved to be worth it, as the team walked away with a 3-1 and 2-0 victory over Seoul and North Shore United. The real test however would be in the league. Where they also would go unmatched. Beating Cairo City 6-0, beating Rapid Magyar 6-0 and even beating Seoul again, 5-3 this time. To the contrary of his own self-doubt, Predrag had proven to be the right man for the job. Even if his personal performance on the pitch had been...regrettable to say the least. Yet, all of this good fortune and success wasn't enough for him. Predrag didn't just dream of a back to back title for Montreal. He imagined something special, something that would truly show his capability as a player and a tactician. He wanted to lead Montreal to an invincible season. To win the title in style. A challenge even more difficult considering the expanded number of matches. All that was left was to make that dream into a reality. APPROVED - A new young mind is perhaps exactly the thing Montreal needs for another championship win RE: #2 Rookie Season - TontoTut - 2025-04-24 CPT#1: https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=224&pid=74705#pid74705 It only took just over 24 hours at PS Jakarta for irritable bowel syndrome to rev my engines. I’m not sure what contributed more to my anal flushing – the local delicacies or phone calls with my father Roy Keane. I even asked the club to install a dedicated cubicle for me so my teammates didn’t have to arrive to training like the clean-up crew at Chernobyl. I spoke with Roy following my second fixture with Jakarta, see my Day In The Life Of, https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=6330. Since then, we shared an unspoken mutual agreement to avoid further contact until something positive occurred. I thought I’d never speak with him again following the 6th defeat from the first 6 games of my debut season, but the next matchday finally brought tears to the eyes of all Jakartans. We defeated Victoria Falls 3-2, and I even bagged a goal. Roy called me that evening, which I suspected was because he had some whiskey, as he was confusingly chipper. Regardless, it lit a fire up my arse, which always felt like it was on fire anyway – again, because of him or the food. Jakarta went from strength to strength after that first victory, relatively speaking, so we set our target for the season to not finish bottom of the table. The tactical knowledge of Dom Patterson and Chris Warrick meant we could finally play some exciting football – win, lose, or draw. Although we did not win many of the next 7 games, we managed to score plenty of goals, which led us to end the season on 13 points. The final game of the season was our second fixture against Victoria Falls, this time away from home, and we neatly won 1-0 to cement the 7th spot in the table ahead of Victoria in 8th. Our first and final win of the season was against them. Beautiful stuff. Anyway, I’m off for a poo. APPROVED - Proud days for many Jakartans. NOTE: link to CPT#1 was broken, I have fixed it. RE: #2 Rookie Season - denismov - 2025-04-24 Two matches. Zero wins. Zero clean sheets. A 6.7 average rating. And somehow, Denis Mobek is still walking around the locker room like he’s already a legend. Drafted 20th overall, Mobek’s rookie season in the SSL was exactly what you’d expect from him. A little messy, a little weird, and oddly captivating. He played 180 minutes, conceded 8 goals, and made 6 saves in total. That breaks down to 3 saves parried, 1 single save held, and 2 tipped, with a save percentage of 42.86. Not amazing on paper, but Mobek doesn’t really care about paper. He didn’t win a single match. Didn’t earn a Player of the Match award. North Shore United drew both of the games he played. But despite all that, Mobek still managed to leave a mark. People noticed. Maybe it was the way he just strolled into games looking like he just rolled out of bed. Maybe it was the way he dives like someone who has nothing to lose. Maybe it was just Mobek being Mobek who knows... He’s not here to win awards or set records. He’s here because he accidentally became a goalkeeper at 18 and turned out to be strangely good at it. Even with zero clean sheets, Mobek showed flashes of instinct you just cannot teach. Whether it was a ridiculous one handed tip or a face first save he’ll pretend was on purpose, he had moments that reminded everyone why he’s still worth watching. It isn't a perfect rookie season for Mobek so far. Not even close. But for Denis Mobek, it was the perfect kind of imperfect for him, it did make him happy though, very happy to be following his perfect ideal He is now set on working with his teammates to turn everything around even though it's wildly out of character for him. What seemed impossible a year ago now is now very real. Voda played and finished an academy season and was about to be drafted. Voda's stint at Istanbul has been succesful, with an average rating of over 7 proving that he is a stable creative outlet at the midfield that can be relied upon. During his time, he managed 3 goals and 5 assists in his 14 games for Istanbul, an impressive number considering he has almost exclusively played in the DM position, one that he was not completely trained in yet. Alongside that, he has written himself in a couple of interesting stats: 14th in distance covered 11th in XG overperformance 15th in conversion rate at a 21% rate Tied 11th for assists 1st in goal mista- wait no don't look at that Tied 8th in progressive passes 9th in high intensity sprints 7th in pressures attempted and tied 18th for pressures completed While nothing fancy, it proves the versaitility and reliability of Voda. When the draft started, Voda had no expectations. Despite his success and the constant words of reasurement from the residents of Istanbul who came to watch him every matchday, Voda still was the biggest doubter of his own abilities. When the first pick from the newly established Shanghai Dragons was announced, he could not believe it as he heard his own name called. A new dynasty, entrusted completely to be led by him. In the biggest draft class ever, he was picked #1. As he entered the main Shanghai Dragons office the next day, he arrived dressed in purple. It was meant to celebrate his first step into the Rapid Magyar team. To his shock, he was given a Shanghai Dragons kit with the iconic number 8. He would be the centerpiece of the majors team future. He would be entrusted in a role more physical than anything done before. Having gained a lot of confidence, Voda managed to provide the organisations first ever assist in history, as a pass towards Trick Johnson would mark the organisations first ever goal. The next friendly against SFV would see Voda put in another stable performance, but it was the leagues game where things went wrong. A dissapointing performance against CDT, Reykjavik and an unremarkable one against Tokyo made some of the doubt return for Voda. However, eventually, fortunes finally turned as Voda managed to turn in a fantastic performance against Catalunya, where he provided an accurate long range assist towards 'Der Kapitan' Thomas Hohenhahn. The organisations first ever league victory, Voda's rookie season in the tiered leagues have not provided eye catching numbers, but the performances have been impressive considering Voda's young age and the oppossition he is facing. The only stat where he appears at this current moment is high intensity sprints, proving that Voda still has the mentality and workrate to achieve his dreams, and to hopefully one day lead this new expansion team to the top of the SSL. APPROVED RE: #2 Rookie Season - louis - 2025-04-26 CPT #1 Despite several run-ins with an adversary, Louis Ashworth had a quietly successful rookie academy season. The goalscoring winger finished on 7 goals and 5 assists: Sydney City's second highest goalscorer, behind striker Kim Minjeong (8G/3A), and the joint highest goal contributions along with fellow winger Ryan Van Eyndhoven (5G/7A) and midfielder Esa Nakha (4G/8A). Ashworth also received 3 player of the match awards, the most on his team and the joint second highest in the academy, and his 49 completed dribbles were the second most in the league, behind Stockholm IK's Tony Delvecchio with 52. His other stats of note included 37 shots (17 on target), a pass accuracy of 80.32%, 31 key passes, 43 attempted crosses (11 successful), and 17 chances created. Analysts gave Ashworth an average match rating of 7.42 across all 14 of his appearances. Ashworth was fifth overall draft pick, being picked by Hollywood/Kaapstad after a very successful scouting conversation back in March. However, rather than continuing as a left attacking midfielder, Ashworth took on the challenge of filling in as FC Kaapstad's striker, replacing Thomas Hohenhahn who has since joined Shanghai/Magyar. Ashworth evidently has big shoes to fill, after Hohenhahn finished the S19 season on 12 goals and an assist, the minor league's third highest goalscorer. As of writing this on April 26nd, Ashworth is off to a flying start, leading the minors with 7 goals and 2 assists in 5 games, having scored in every game. The bookies now have FC Kaapstad tipped to win the minor league, an honour which had been Montreal United's before the season started, and Ashworth's efforts in front of goal and Kaapstad's resounding 5-2 victory over Montreal on matchday 4 would have played a part in this. What's more is that Ashworth is currently on track for the golden boot, an extremely elusive feat for a debutant in his first professional season should he pull it off. The future undoubtedly looks bright for Kaapstad's star striker. APPROVED - Great start for a future star! RE: #2 Rookie Season - Summerstood - 2025-04-27 CPT 1 :- https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=224&pid=75845#pid75845 It was a good rookie season that Aoi had in the Academy, at least in terms of getting exposure to playing and adjusting himself in international conditions. And his stats from the eight matches that he played for P.S. Jakarta reflected the steep learning curve of stepping into a professional environment. It was his addition that gave Jakarta the much needed cover at the back that eventually led them winning the match dubbed as "El Trashico" on the final Academy matchday and leapfrogging to the seventh place in the points table. Now owing to the lack of defensive covers Aoi played the entire 90 minutes of all the eight games that he had started for Jakarta. One of his biggest strengths while playing as a left back or a left wing back was his ability to run a lot. Across the eight games, he covered a total of 109.3 kilometers in total i.e. approximately 13.66 kilometers per game. He also had a modest 2 assists last season. Another area that Ashito had it going for him was his passing. He completed 268 successful passes out of the 341 that he attempted, resulting in a respectable 78.59% passing accuracy or him. He also made 43 key passes throughout the duration of his eight matches. He also had a good tackle ratio as well as he had successfully won 20 out of his 28 attempted tackles giving him a solid 71.43% success rate. Moreover, he also contributed 2 key tackles, 22 interceptions, 14 clearances and had 0 mistakes leading to goals - a testament to his concentration and positioning in his budding career. In short this was the perfect definition of a foundation year and he passed the test with flying colours. And let us not forget his fan army from his prefecture. They were a constant to his games both home and away and maybe that was his source of motivation all along! Owing to his performances on the field and his social and communication skills off of it, Uniao Sao Paulo drafted him for their Minors team AS Paris in the third round as the 29th pick. He was called "The World's greatest Counter" by the USP/ASP GM in the message for him while getting drafted and to simply put things into perspective - things are looking great for Ashito so far and he is just getting started! APPROVED - El Trashico will forever remain in our hearts. RE: #2 Rookie Season - aegis - 2025-04-27 Andres de Giron was disappointed with his academy season, ending the year with only one assist and no goals, and an average rating below 6.6. While there was a lot that went wrong on the pitch, the greatest causes were most likely off the pitch, according to some of his Medellin teammates. He struggled a lot with homesickness and also with his long-distance friendships. The competition was much fiercer than he had ever experienced yet, and his confidence was, despite his brash exterior, quite low. The only metrics that showed anything of note were his distance covered per game, which was one of the highest in the league -- and his number of crosses attempted. The number was VAST, but with a very, very low completion rate, none of them were even close to seeing their target, let alone assimilating into an assist. It was hard for him. The only things keeping him turning up for practice every day were his teammates, specifically one teammate in Diabhi Barr. Despite their vastly different upbringings, Barr and De Giron quickly bonded over their love for the game, their love of geography, and their mutual partnership down the right flank of the pitch. Despite De Giron's meager performances and Medellin's uninspiring finish to the academy season, De Giron was a second-round draft pick, where he was picked up by Uniao Sao Paolo and their respective minors team, AS Paris. Right when he began to reach out and network with the Sao Paulo players, however, he was quickly traded in a swap deal to CF Catalunya, and their respective minor team of Seoul Mythic. It was a bit of a jarring moment for Andres, but he quickly bedded in at Seoul, and much to his delight, alongside Diabhi Barr, who was a first-round pick to the same team. Now playing in a proper 5 at-the-back system, De Giron looks much more comfortable in that right wing-back position, already with 6 assists to his name within the first 7 games, as well as picking up his first ever game MVP in a 2nd leg cup-tie against London. It seems like his confidence is well and truly back, and having a proper shining season so far. There's much to come for this young defender, but the future looks bright. APPROVED RE: #2 Rookie Season - homercrates - 2025-04-27 #1 Biography year 1 Rookie Season Absolutely unexpected Trick Johnson went in the 1st round of the s20 draft. Pick number 9 shocked him as he felt he would be a more round 3 pick. Trick had impressed with manager North, the greatest showman with Trick Johnson’s own showmanship. Secretly Trick was hoping to be part of the new expansion team Shanghai Dragons. As the draft grew nearer and nearer it started to really show itself to Trick as the place he wanted to go. What a fortunate turn of events, Trick even found himself there with two players he was familiar with Delveccio, and De Soto both. Magic, pure magical feeling when he saw his name called for Shanghai. Trick was informed also that much to his surprise he wasn’t going to play for Maygar the minor league team he was going straight up to the majors to play. There was no getting your feet wet for Trick, he and his slight of hand, slight of foot magic show would have to perform at the highest peak right away against monsters of the SSL. Nervous? Nah, Trick Johnsons is a showman who doesn’t play the game of football he performs it. The first friendly was nothing short of magical for Trick Johnson as they faced the other expansion team Technotitlan. Trick stared off his first game for Shanghai with 2 goals, and an assist earning himself a 9.2 rating. It was magical, yet just a friendly. Perhaps Trick used up too much magic that day because after the friendlies when the league started Trick grew quiet again, with no magic to show yet. Since the rocky start to the rookie season the performance has been nothing really of note a few good plays here or there a few flashes but no magic. Trick Johnson though is fine with that, he had a taste of greatness and worry about it because after all the game is a team sport. Trick did get to see the Dragons get their first goal of their franchise, as well as get their first win. All exciting things, Trick knows this isn't the end by a long shot just the beginning and he is overjoyed and ecstatic to be a part of this historic first season, for his team and his career. Trick is ready for the long journey and this first season has been amazing. APPROVED - May sim videos live up to this text! |
