Anchor: Our top story today is about one of the more interesting prospects in the upcoming academy season and Season 25 draft; Domingo Hernández. While Hernández might have gradated with a PHD; his days as a Doctor are over and he's not afraid to mention why. After an extensive infidelity issue and lawsuit stemming from it; Domingo is hanging up the stethoscope and putting back on his cleats; returning to the sport he loved as a child and teenager; and played in college... soccer. Our sports reporter has the story and the interview.

Reporter: Domingo Hernández was a hot shot doctor operating just outside of Miami, FL. But after a bachelorette trip crossed paths with the doctor; and Hernández got a bride-to-be pregnant; the the disgruntled husband sent the story to the news and soon Domingo's clinic was more about hooking up with the doctor instead of getting healthy.

Domingo: It's true.. people say I have a problem with women, but I don't think it's a problem; if I love them and they love Domingo; it's mutual for both sides.

Reporter: Now, you have regained your love of Soccer; do you see Soccer as a way to get more women?

Domingo: My days as the suave, infidelity-prone doctor are over; I have a pair of twins I co-parent and the only thing that will come close to the love I have for those kids will be my love of the game of soccer. I'm excited for this new path of life; and who knows if there is an injury out on the field I will be out there to assist either team.

Anchor: Ahead of the Season 25 draft; Domingo has been signed to Port Royal FC in the SSL Academy; and while not picking sides this early in the draft process; but this team features players like Vincent Haye; Juliette Greer; Zay Bailey; Curtis Yeager; this could be the best team in the academy. The first academy game is live next week so we'll have our first chance to see how all upcoming prospects do.

Approved - Looking forward to seeing Domingo's career!

Van Jertonghen is from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium and is actually for some reason not a big fan of Santa Claus. His father is a brewer of Belgian Beer and his mom works at the local library. He is an only child and would spend his days after school having a kickabout with the boys even if there was homework to do. From a young age he always showed that he had a talent for the game of football and would often dominate his youth matches at all levels. He had the skill to play anywhere on the pitch except keeper and would score goals at will but defending was his passion. Coaches would always try to convince him to play forward due to his size and speed but his heart was in stopping goals instead of scoring or creating them. His ability on the ball is what makes him a ball playing defender. Since he played so much up front, he developed the skills to be good on the ball, which stand out when playing on the backline.

A career in professional football was deemed a possibility when Van turned 16. Clubs throughout Belgium and continental Europe were offering Van opportunities to attend their academy. Van though wanted to expand his horizons and thought going somewhere unfamiliar to him would improve him not only as a person but as a player. He took trips to England, Germany, Italy and even Portugal to look at prospective clubs but none of them tickled his fancy. Then one day he was flipping through the channels one late Saturday night and found a Nordic Noir crime thriller series based in Stockholm on the television. Van fell in love with the culture, people and grittiness of Sweden and decided to sign a youth contract with the Stockholm academy.

Van is now ready to grow his career in the SSL and develop into a top professional to make his parents and town proud.

Approved - May need to talk to you about your father. I am a big fan of Belgian beers

Vyacheslav Shevchenko was born in Rogachev, Belarus. From an early age, he fell in love with soccer and played it a lot on public football fields. At the same time, he was enrolled in the city's football academy. And that's how he grew up, playing football, while at the same time, of course, gaining knowledge at school. Of course, it was not easy to learn the subtleties of the game, but Vyacheslav was very passionate about this game and therefore gave his best in every game. So he developed a great vision of the field and a football IQ, which allowed him to become the best Belarusian midfielder at the junior level. Leadership qualities were also evident. For example, he was consistently the captain in teams of his age (he was also assigned to older guys) and coped with it very well. He never let his teammates lose heart in difficult situations and always came up with ways out to turn the outcome of the match. This is how Vyacheslav trained and gradually learned football step by step, discovering new tactics, techniques and maneuvers. His children's team quickly became dominant in local competitions and attracted the attention of the international football community with their excellent performances at international children's tournaments. Vyacheslav also showed himself on the good side, successfully showing his best skills in games with really strong teams. Time passed and the time came. School is over, and so is the football academy. The stage of children's football showed great prospects for a young guy who worked hard every day in training for the chance to get into professional football. And finally, a real chance, which Vyacheslav is ready to cling to and prove that he deserves to become a professional, was given to him. He got into the junior league as part of the reigning champions Victoria Falls.

Patrick Zweig was once considered a Tennis wonder kid when he was a teen, he had won the national doubles with his best friend and was all set to go professional but unfortunately one bad decision after another led him to a devastating slump. The once tennis prodigy who once couldnt lose a game, was now barely making it to first rounds of tournaments and his luck got even worse as he suffered a big shoulder injury which setback his career forever. Patrick isnt a quitter though, in fact he is the most competitive person you'll ever meet, he was well known for being "true to the grind" he'd play in one local tournament after another, sleeping in his car, smashing his rackets, trash talking during the games so when his Tennis career was over, he was upset but saw it as an opportunity to make a switch.
Football has been one sport he was always good at, despite living his entire life in the states, he was tapped in to the EPL, mostly because his entire family was filled with huge Southampton supporters. They would never miss a single game and naturally the love for the sport passed on to Zweig.

Zweig moved to a football academy in Sweden, where he spent day and night studying the game. He initially started the game off as a CDM, he believed his intelligence and his footwork would suit that position perfectly, but he soon realised he didn't have the physicality to go shoulder to shoulder with other bulky CDMs. He was then tried at the wings, where he learned how drift inwards and essentially become the secondary CAM but his crossing was nowhere good enough. After weeks of finding his match, he finally did! His coach once asked him to play at CAM, but as a Secondary striker. Someone who create but also be a threat to the goal, and it perfectly suited his style of play. He could dictate the attack, find the open man and make those passes which he was very good at but also be the Star player he once was in the tennis circuits and score goals. It was a perfect match and there started the football journey of Patrick Zweig.....

Some people might know Daniel Herrera's older brother Darnell Mohamed Johnson Herrera III, or his father Darnell Mohamed Johnson II better than him. And why shouldn't they? They're both famous hockey players in the SHL. His brother took after their father, heading to the united states to follow his dream of becoming a hockey star.

Daniel, though, he didn't feel that pull. Perhaps it was his love for the city, or his seemingly deeper connection to their mother, but Daniel wanted to stay in Mexico and make his own way. Mexico City, where he was born, is an interesting place. Hard to categorize. A city-state. The largest metro area in the Americas. One of the most important cities in the world, a cultural hub. Chaotic, hectic, but also refined and elegant (in some places...).

Central Mexico is the cradle of football for the country, and Daniel grew up in this great football culture. Watching the greats, commiserating in the misery of el Tri, playing in the street, playing futsal on courts and football in various local leagues throughout his youth. Daniel Herrera started developing his game as a somewhat technical winger, his game incorporating that chaotic but refined spirit of his home city, equally likely to drive the ball down the line or put in a pinpoint cross - True to his origin, Daniel incorporated that famous work ethic and would often be the first back in defense, and the first up the line looking for a let out pass. Over time, he gradually sank deeper and deeper in the pitch, realizing that with a little work he could incorporate his natural speed, stamina and drive to become a great defender, which would help to set him apart from other wingers. Interestingly, both his brother and father are defensemen in the SHL - maybe there's a genetic component to good defense?

It was only a matter of time before he was spotted and given the nod, a shaky opportunity to hop on a plane to Sydney and prove himself in the SSL academy.
